What is the nicest thing a woman/man has ever done for you?
I'll start:
One time I was joking with a young lady about how dudes get the raw end of the deal when it comes to giving thoughtful gifts. I was saying, "we always gotta buy y'all flowers and candy...we never get flowers or candy!" Well, a day or two later, she came to my job with this bouqet of flowers and candy!
Even though I didn't want the flowers, it was very thoughtful! Dayum, why did I let that one get away

Back in 2005 I was really really sick! I had surgery the day before my birthday. My two bestest (not a real word...I know) guy friends and I go to Cheesecake Factory for every birthday...well on my birthday I was in the hospital. I woke up on my birthday with a card and a gift card. In the card were pictures of the things I usually order a Cheesecake Factory. I know it isn't the best think in the world, but I was sooo sad being cooped up in the hospital, plus they brought me my favorite yougart!
BTW these were just frirends....nothing else.

i don't know if it's the nicest but it's up there....
i got a piggyback ride to the car after i went to this little exhibit opening. this guy i had a crush on from waaaaay back in the stone age when i was in school ...and i ran into each other in the office building where we worked...the building is 36 floors, so of course you won't see everyone.
anyway...he asked if i wanted to see this exhibit and there would be martinis afterwards (casual attire). so you know....i got ultra fly... hair was wild, free and fabulous and smelling like lavender, eyebrows arched so wonderfully, cute little surplice top, cute olive skirt...and i had my hot mama knee-high distressed leather brown boots with the 3" heel and pointed toe....oh you couldn't tell me i wasn't looking cute.
the boots aren't that uncomfortable...but baby standing in 3" heels for at least 6 hours will make even the fiercest of women want to cry. he could tell i looked pained....and i was just like forget it, we had to walk back to his car...i broke down and took them boots OFF! (you hear me)...them summafishes were hurtin'.
he laughed and said...should i carry you to the car, princess pea ...i told him, nah...i'm too heavy, but times like this, i envy children that are small enough for piggy back rides.
anyway...lo and behold, he gave me a piggyback ride to the car, which was about 7 blocks. people looked and giggled...but i know those boots, as fresh as they are....those are my "show-stopper" boots.

Last summer, I flew out to LA to visit one of my best guy friends who lives out there for work. It was my birthday weekend so it was an extra special treat. Anyways, I was real excited about all the typical LA sites, and being the 'fabulous' little woman I am, I wanted to take a stroll down Rodeo Dr. I practically lost my mind at stores like: Cavalli, Hermes, etc. Right before we left to go to Beverly Hills he said that he had to make it 'somewhere' by 6:30. I figured it was a dinner or meeting or something and thought nothing of it.
Anyways...we were coming up on the Tiffany's store, and he asked if I wanted to go in. Now, I have this thing that when I travel out of town, I try not to go into stores that I have at home - but I figured I would. Especially since I wanted to buy a secret birthday treat for me: Toggle Heart Necklace. So we walk in, and he asked the man where Customer Service was, I look at him crazy and he says he has something to pick up. I figure it was his cufflinks because I swore he told me he broke them. So we ride up the elevator, stroll over to Customer Service. We go to the desk, the sales rep pulls out the bag. My friend hands him the credit card, the sales rep hands him the bag and my friend hands the bag to me. I look at the sales rep and ask: Sir...what is this??
He answers in his lovely accent, "Ma'am, why don't you just open it up so we all can see?" *smarty pants*

Yeah. It was my Toggle Heart Necklace. The ONLY person who knew I wanted it was my roomie (outside of my Sands she was the ONLY person) And she was also the ONLY person HE called to ask what I would really want for my birthday. (I had told him a nice dinner would be great.)
He was smooth. Real smooth. So smooth I collapsed in tears in the middle of Tiffany's. Turns out the store closed at 7 and he knew I'd make a scene for a good half hour, lol. He banked on the notion that I'd walk into Tiffany's just because I'm a girl who likes shiny things, lol - so he didn't worry about me not wanting to go in there, or him having to press the issue.
I guess the necklace itself wasn't the nicest thing, but just the whole presentation and secrecy of it. I loved it. I cried all the way to the mall...and then dried my tears with a new Armani Exchange outfit, lol.

i worked at UPS one killer Christmas, should have gotten off around 7, didnt make it home until 1130...felt like hell. i had basically pulled a non-stop 16 hour day and hadnt eaten all day, let alone take a bathroom break. when i got home, dinner was cooked, my daughter was asleep, my favorite drink was made. after that, my fiance took me into the bathroom where he had run my favorite bubble bath and lit candles all around. he kept me supplied with wine and hot water, while i complained about how much Christmas sucked...by far one of the nicest things ever done for me!

I got a really nice fraternity ring and a card in the mail, and it wasn't my birthday or anything. I thought that was really nice.

I had never really done anything special for my birthdays, so I called my boy and told him that he had to do something special for me on my b-day.
On that day he picked me up that evening and told me that we were going to have a great time. And we did. He got us private salsa dance lessons, then we went to this restaurant where they had salsa night and danced the night away. It was very the subtle gesture -- and it was the nicest thing a guy had ever done for me.

I think the nicest thing a guy has ever done for me would be what my husband when he asked me to marry him.
We are like the black Brady Bunch. He had a son and I had a son and daughter before we married. I was really overprotective of my children and weary of beginning relationships because I didn't want my children's hearts to be broken. Anyway, while we were dating, we'd do these big family picnic dates. We had done these on several occassions, but on this day it was different. After we had all swung on the swings, slid down the slide, and run through the water fountain, he took the kids to the picnic area. Suspicious, I began to walk over and he came with four black boxes. He gave my children their rings and asked them could he be their step-father. By this time, my heart stopped. He then asked his son if I could be his step-mother. By this time, huge tears came streaming down my face when he got on his knee and asked me to be his wife. Yep, definately the sweetest thing.

Awwwwww......this just made me cry!!
This probably isn't the nicest, but it's the first one that comes to mind: A guy bought me books for my birthday. I know, it sounds so simple, but books mean so much to me, and the fact that he understood and respected that was very touching.
I also remember another incident with a former co-worker. I had just become a Delta. She was from Sweden and knew nothing about fraternities, sororities, BLGOs, or anything of the sort. The only thing she did remember is that my sorority collected elephants. Well, I came to work one day and she gave me a small silver elephant charm that belonged to her grandmother. I was so touched I cried right in front of customers, lol.
