You should probably post this in the Greek Life forum, rather than Chit Chat. (Chit Chat is for topics that aren't related to the Greek system...)
Also, you may want to clarify whether the group you are involved with is affiliated with an NPC or an NPHC sorority. ( http://www.npcwomen.org/about/an_members.php
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nationa...llenic_Council)
It will help people who are trying to answer your question give a better response.
(In general, I don't believe it would hurt you - after all, you're showing an interest in being involved in Greek Life. However, you'll get more responses tailored to your situation if you re-post this as I mentioned above.)
Good luck.

Since the only NPC "little sisters" equivalent I can think of is KD and GirlScouts, which really doesn't count, I'm guessing she's talking NPHC. In which case, she should either a) post it in that GLO's forum or b) not worry about it, since it could be construed as asking membership related questions.

We have a program called Rosebuds. I wasn't sure whether other NPC groups had something equivalent or not. (We don't call it a "little sisters" program, but it is designed for young girls from preschool through high school.)
She probably is more likely talking about NPHC though.

I've never heard of that. Is it for legacies, or anyone? And I know that NPC is probably well aware, but wouldn't that kind of be considered "dirty rushing"?

Just want to clarify that the Girl Scouts are in NO way, shape or form a little sister organization of any sort to KD. The Girl Scouts are one of KD's national philanthropies, but are in not any way a little sister org.
I'm pretty sure Alphafrog knows this, but I just want to make the point clear before rumors get started.

That has never stopped her from giving incorrect information or poor advice.

It is for anyone. (The info is on the public part of our website - you can pull it up if you want. There's a link to the PDF brochure and a brief video here, second bolded header down entitled "Rosebuds": http://www.alphagammadelta.org/conte...006/friday.htm )
I don't necessarily think it would be "dirty rushing" as most of the girls who end up in the program would likely already have a connection to Alpha Gamma Delta anyhow. (Whether through a relative or a friend of the family.) If anything, I'd assume it would just promote a positive view of sorority life in general. After all, there's no guarantee that any of the young girls will end up on a college campus with an Alpha Gam chapter (or even if they did, no guarantee that there would be a good fit between the girl and the chapter). Since the girls who end up in the program are likely to already have an Alpha Gam connection, if they were going to be biased towards us, they probably would have been regardless of the program or not.
I like the idea of the program b/c I have a 3 year old daughter, and it will give me fun activities to do with her. (Also, I have 3 nieces under the age of 7 who live nearby, so its something I can get my biological sister involved in and enjoy quality time with them also.) I'd love to see a Rosebud group started in my area, but can't commit to getting it off the ground myself - have a ton going on right now as a chapter advisor.
If anything though, I think that the girls who go through the program will walk away with a positive view of sorority life and get them to think about the possibility of going through recruitment when they go to college one day. (Whatever chapter they might ultimately end up in...)
