HAPPY BIRTHDAY PHI GAMMA DELTA

PHI GAMMA DELTA (FIJI) is 159 years old today. We were founded at the old Jefferson College in Cannonsburg, PA, (now Washington and Jefferson) on May 1, 1848.

So, can anyone explain to me why you write yourselves out as Fiji instead of the letters?

As the Fiji in this thread isn't on right now, I'll answer and let one of them correct me if I mess up

They only allow their letters to be used in a set of specific circumstances.

On a uniform diamond-shaped member badge
On the Fraternity's official seal
On the Fraternity's official flag
On a chapter house marker
On memorials to deceased brothers
On a brother's certificate of membership
On a brother's official college ring

T-shirts are not allowed. It's out of respect to the meaning of the letters. They should never be on something that can be easily destroyed. So you can write the letters out, but not use the actual Greek letters.
