Post Sickle Cell

Yesterday another of my cousins died from complications with sickle cell anemia. One of my relatives and I were discussing how sickle cell research is not as well funded as some other diseases (ie. AIDS) since it primarily affects people of color. I wanted to know which, if any, greek letter organizations donates money for sickle cell research.

Thanks

I do know for a fact that ALPHA KAPPA ALPHA chapters in my area have dilligently sponsored events to raise money for annual Sickle Cell Anemia fundraising drives. Many Sorors have been touched by this disease in MANY ways.

Therefore, it would only be NATURAL that Sorors support this cause and other HEALTH related targets.

I am sorry to hear about your family's loss!

Midwest Diva, my deepest sympathies...

I've always wondered if any NPHC groups support sickle cell prevention and research through their national altruisms and philanthropies...or is it on a chapter basis?
