Post What is the world going to come to???

With the presidential race coming to a close, I would like you all to ponder this question.

WHAT IF GEORGE BUSH BECOMES OUR NEXT PRESIDENT??

Will affirmative action end?

Will women lose the right to choose what they want to do with their bodies?

Will I have a job when I graduate?

Will the rich become richer and the poor, poorer?

Will there be a racial war where dragging deaths and hate crimes go unpunished?

While the Democrats have been in power for long time, I think we really need to evaluate the reason for wanting someone in office. Is it because you want a change of face or just because you want to see a new face in office? George W. Bush is NOT representative of the majority of American people. Please people, listen to the facts. Bush can't even form a complete sentence, let alone, state facts. Please everyone, before you vote, think of the consequences. The next president is going to pick the next Supreme Court justices. Think about it - do you really want Bush for 4 years???

What is even scarier to think about is this:
What if George Bush DOESN'T become our next president? Will it be worth the effort for those of us who do work for a living to work long hours in high-pressured jobs just to have most of our salary be drained off in taxes that go to unnecessary programs or to programs that suck the work and education ethic out of the human spirit? You wouldn't be Greek if you weren't in college. I am sure many of you are working hard and sacrificing, or have parents and guardians who are, so that you can stay in school. At this point in your lives the term "personal accountability" should mean something to you. Democrat or Republican,, each of us are accountable for what we make of our lives. Just be sure to vote. Now, PLEASE, stay off the politics here and just have ONE place where you can have some fun.

Hi folks, can I respectfully ask that we take George W. Bush to "chit chat"? Unless we're talking about his Greek affiliation.

alumniwithhightaxes - do you think that your taxes will decrease with Bush?? Unless you're a millonaire, you won't see too much of a tax break. It never fails though, as soon as a Republican takes office, the economy falls, we have a deficit, people are hungry all over the nation, people lose their jobs...when is America going to learn??

And for those who plan on voting for Bush, I would wonder what your reason would be? Because I really don't understand. I'm just really trying to get it, all jokes aside.

Yes, George W. Bush was greek. He was a Deke. (I think? someone correct me if I'm wrong.) I beleive Gore was greek, but I don't know what affiliation.

By the way....I would love to debate politics with y'all. But this thread belongs in chit chat. If you are really as gung-ho as you sound about this topic, register, and we'll chat there.

Question

Will I have to move to Canada?

If G. Dubya is elected I will. Ugh...I don't even want to think about it (not Canada...I love Canada! I can't think about GW Daddy's Boy actually becoming president.).

Anyway, making this on topic...Was GW or Gore in a fraternity?

Cool

Actually, I heard if GWB gets elected, he's going to imprison all people who post topics in incorrect forums on message boards.

Go Greek! Go DKE!! Go W!!!

George Bush was a Skull and Bone (as in the movie "The Skulls") which he openly admits in a recent article in TALK magazine....Tom Hanks is on the cover.
I truly don't think Bush is a representative of the common man. Plus, I was astounded during his interview with Oprah, when she asked about the 144 people executed in Texas - his response - "What about them?"

Um...and I also agree that we should move this to Chit Chat.

Worried,
GW's father is a DKE...GW is Skull and Bone (Yale).

Why am I voting for him? I know what he stands for. He supports many things I believe in. Whereas, Mr. Gore, well, what exactly does he stand for? He say he's for smaller government, but he's not. He says he's his own man, but won't be able to win without Bubba. He swore on his sister's deathbed to fight tobacco, yet hires an ex-tobacco CEO to help run his campaign. He says he put corrupt politicians in jail as a reporter, but he didn't. He was present at the creation of the SPR and EITC legislations, but he wasn't (wasn't even a Senator yet for the SPR).

You may not like what GW stands for, but, know this, you at least know what it is he does stand for. With Gore? It's a flip of the coin to see what he stands for....

GWB was in both Skull and Bones and DEKE. Skull and Bones is different froma fraternity. It is a secret society. His father was also a Bonesman.

Worried,
You claim Bush can't form a complete sentence or state facts...obviously questioning his intelligence.

Answer this question...which candidate FLUNKED out of divinity school, withdrew from law school due to bad grades, and had a lower GPA in college than his current opponent? Hint: It ain't Dubya.

Amen and preach on! I think its funny because this didn't get too many responses under chitchat yet it pops back up over here...hmmmm....

If you guys wanna move to Canada - then go. Hey its still a free country! I won't leave the country if Gore is elected, but I will be very disappointed. I don't know why it seems like all Gore people have to pull out the old "GWB can't even complete a whole sentence" --- what about the ISSUES people. And hell yeah - what about those murderers who were given much better treatment than their victims? What about them - did they get what they deserved...NO...because if so they would have died the same way they took the person/PEOPLE they killed if that were the case. What about the ACLU saying "they have rights" --- what rights? You kill a person - you lose those rights. (We're not talking self defense here) The rights they have to live better than many Americans do - with their cable TV, library, access to the internet (there are places in this country that still don't have electricity) and the "right" to die humanely...PUHLEAZZZZE!

I'll let this one ride for now - maybe it will be moved to chit chat soon and we can get through the next 13 days without another election thing popping up on GREEK LIFE.

GO AMERICA - GO BUSH/CHENEY!
