Have you heard??!!
I have recently watched the news and I saw a lady on there. Well this lady decided that she needed a break from her kids and so she took her three kids (twin daughters, 2 1/5 and a son, 8 months) and left them in a library in the adult section. I saw her kids on the news and they are so cute and adorable. When you look at them you wonder how someone could do something so cruel. Then, after they showed the children they showed her picture. The lady looked like she was in her late 20s to early 30s. Her kids are now in temporary foster homes, but I dont know if they are all together.
I just wanted to know how you all feel about this issue and I look forward to readin your posts.
I on the other hand am deeply upset and feel that she should be put away in jail. I fee that she doesnt deserve to have her kids when their are people out there who are worthy and lovin enough to have kids but cant. And what happens when they get older and want to know where their mother is and what happen to her. They will wonder why she didnt want them and if it was their fault. I think she really made a big, big mistake and should never be able to have her kids again.
Im sorry for the long post, but this was somethin that I wanted you all to know.
Peace and one!

well...
this is slightly different, but did anyone see the oprah where they were talking about young moms who are in denial the whole pregnancy and abandon or throw away their babies right after they're born. I AM NOT saying that it's a good thing, but in some way, my heart goes out to these panicked girls, esp. since there are so many people and media agents pointing them out and labeling them horrible people. In some places, they've passed legal abandonment laws so there are places that women can anonymously drop babies, and retrieve them up to 2 months later. If they aren't retrieved they're put up for adoption. May not be the "right thing' or whatever, but it is a solution that's better than babies thrown in dumpsters and left to die...

Texas just passed that law. Any mother can take her baby to any fire department or paramedic station, annonymously and no questions asked. It sucks yes, but it is the best solution out there. They are advertising the program on TV a bunch here. I think the slogan they are using is, "If you can't do the best thing, at least do the right thing."

i understand everyone's frustrations. however, i saw this post from a different point of view.
there are mothers and fathers every day that give birth to a child and, such as in the amy grossman case, literally dispose of thier children in dumpsters, trash cans...whatever. i'm am NOT in any way standing up for this woman's actions, but at least she left her children in a relatively safe place where they would be found and taken care of. when i hear these infant neglect/death stories on the news, i think to myself "why not leave the baby at a church, a mall, SOMEWHERE that someone will find them and care for them...don't just let them die!" what this woman did was harrowing and unforgivable. but she did not kill her children, she did not leave them in a dark alley somewhere...she left them in the library *granted, the adult section, but thats a mute point right now*. someone will hopefully find relatives of these children, give them proper medical attention if needed and care for these unfortunately little babies.

it's probably for the better that the children are going to foster homes because to me anyone that thinks that let alone carries it out is unstable and not ready for the responsibilty needed to correctly care for children.
