Meeting sisters from other chapters

SO, last week I started my 2L classes and went around the halls chatting and socializing-- you know, instead of preparing for class. And, i see a girl with a ChiO recruitment shirt across the hall.... I went over and asked if she is ChiO (I ask such an obvious question because I have totally been burned by an imposter before )... She turned out to be a sister from MTSU.... and, she was a bit taken aback... I tend to flip out when I meet sisters. I'm sure she thought I was a psycho.

Oh, also, I was visiting my significant other's pharm. fraternity and met lots of ChiOs at their luau... they came over to say "hi."

Sigh... I am such a geek... I get super excited meeting sisters from other chapters!

I totally know how you feel!!

I was minding my own business, wearing a Chi O spirit week shirt at a college "youth group" type occassion one sunday, and a girl comes up to me and asks if I'm a chi o! I proudly say "yes" and I found out she was an FSU Chi o!

I love meeting girls from other chapters! I also love going on myspace and adding girls from the Chi O group

You're not alone in going crazy over seeing sisters you dont know

Small World

I recently had the opportunity to visit Cairo for a week. While sitting on a bench in the lobby of the Egyptian Museum -- I spotted a Chi Omega alumna friend of mine from California! We were both shocked! What fun.

Sorry for the crash! But one of my Chi O daughters wore a Chi O shirt to work the other day and discovered that her boss, a doctor, is a Chi O from the LSU chapter!

I was at a nice restaurant a couple of weeks ago with a guy friend who is well-aware of my affinity for my sorority. At the table next to us were two lovely ladies in their 70s, if I had to guess. My friend looked at me and said, "I bet they are Chi Omegas." I laughed and went on with my meal. As we were leaving he went up to their table and ASKED them if either was a Chi Omega!?!! One raised her hand and said, "Well I am! How did you know?"

We had a delightful conversation and my friend was quite proud of himself!

Random Chi O board crash...

Wonderful news from my favorite Chi Omega! Of my best friends from college (a beautiful Chi O!) got engaged this weekend!

She's a great example of an involved alumna and I can't wait for all of the fun planning ahead between our little group and her sorority sisters, who have always been so welcoming of Nikki's "other sorority" (us!)

Good times!

Hey adpiucf, want me to help you learn the tune to "Shades" so you can hum along at the reception?

THAT is a neat story!

A few weeks before I was initiated (back in '03), I was wearing a hooded sweatshirt with silk screened "Chi Omega" in the Atlanta airport, waiting for a flight. A woman introduced herself to me as a Chi Omega - turned out to be Barbara Rideout from Chi O Creations - where I had bought the sweatshirt, lol. Its a small world!

Wow... I haven't been to this thread in a very long time.... I have many stories but one story of meeting a Chi O out and about comes to mind... I was doing interviews out in the sticks on an investigation and at our lunch break I stopped into a Subway.... I was using a bag with my letters on it and a woman came up to me to talk a bit (after she made sure that the letters were Chi Omega)... it turned out her daughter was a ChiO (chapter President, in fact)...so, I spent my lunch with a woman I didn't know just talking about how I loved ChiO and what it meant to me. After the lunch break I told the investigator I was working with the story and he just rolled his eyes. : )

I met my first non-Rho Mu sister today! I was walking to class when a sister from Michigan State called out "Chi O!" and let me know who she was. I was excited, clearly! It was nice to meet an older sister. :-)

Thumbs up

when i was living in portland for a short time i went to an alum event and met the most amazing group of girls!! most of them were from oregon state or u of o (dont remember which!!) and they were awesome! its still amazing to me that you can go to an event not knowing anyone and there arent any awkward silences. we were all talking over dinner the whole time! 2 hours came and went and it felt like we just got there! if youre new to an area definitely contact your local alum chapter and get involved!! i wish i could have stayed in portland longer because these girls are great!!!
