I think when its on the internet, its so much easier to say things, than it is in real life, that quite often you get to know so much more about someone, that you wouldn't know if it was an offline relationship.
Yeah that is so true! If someone rejects your beliefs, ideas, opinions, etc online it isn't as big of a deal bc you probably won't ever see the person, but when you meet someone it is different.
I agree with you contact.
My ex fiancee and I communicated so well online because it's easy to write things. But he could NOT communicate in person so he'd avoid things. His sister even admitted that he'd spent way too much time online in his life that he couldn't open up or discuss things.
However, when we broke up and we were talking online it was much harder because he'd twist something I'd say and call me "hostile" which was far from the truth. So then I'd block him for two weeks and he didn't understand why! Basically because communication was impossible online because typed words couldn't express what we really felt. So now we don't talk at all (fine by me). So you see, it goes both ways!
It's really interesting watching people communicate online. Typically it's completely different from the way that they would communicate in person.
It allows people to be a lot more measured and methodical with their communication. Then again a lot of people lack the ability to form coherant thoughts when forced to write them out
Yep it goes 2 ways.
