YouTube Presidential Race?

I heard on the radio today, though I have yet to find written confirmation of it, that YouTube will be offering platforms for potential candidates to deliver their message to the people. I think that this is a really interesting idea and, if the platforms are free, such a practice has a lot of potential in addressing the campaign financing issues and the problematic and beholden relationships that are evident between politicians and their contributors.

What are your thoughts about the potential of the internet as a campaign tool, and the potential to use the internet to navigate some of the more problematic aspects of campaign finance?

I'm all for it. I say we must use whatever vice we have to get folk involved in the electoral process.

I don't know how much this would impact the problematic campaign finance issue (because $$ is entrenched in American political system) but I do think this is a good idea -- because it's another avenue, potentially exposing more people to the political process, giving more people the chance to "tune in" and get involved.

This may slightly retard some of the monetary influence, but I don't think we'll ever get totally away from it.

the younger generation will more than likely access it, BUT will they be motivated to go out and vote?
