Question DGC vs. NPC

Does anyone know if the organizations that are a part of the DGC are any cheaper than some of those in the NPC?

I've never heard of the DGC ever so I wouldn't know how much their dues cost.

Speaking from an NPC standpoint, while sorority fees (New Member, Initiation, etc.) are usually set fees by the org's I/HQ, dues and other expenses not only vary from sorority to sorority, but also from chapter to chapter.

I'm not familiar with the term DGC. I'm guessing that it's a term used locally at your school; possibly it's an umbrella organization for MCGLOs?

As OTW said, NPC dues have several components, some set on the inter/national level and some set on the chapter level. The first semester is always the most expensive (leaving aside the cost of living in-house if the chapter has a house and you choose to live there - but keep in mind that if you live in-house you don't have to pay for a dorm room) because you have to pay an initiation fee and buy a badge, but these are one-time expenses. Most NPC chapters will work out payment plans with individual members if they can't cough up the full dues at the start of the semester.

If you're looking into a non-NPC sorority, probably the best thing to do if you're concerned about expenses, is to ask a member from the particular chapter where you would be pledging.
