Whole Foods/Fresh Fields/Trader Joe's
Hi everyone,
I just recently (about 6 months ago) visited a health food store "Whole Foods" and I was completely amazed by the size, prices, and quality of food. Needless to say that I'm hooked I love the idea of eating chicken that hasn't been injected with all sorts of antibiotics, beef and seafood that’s fresh, homemade sausages, the hot bar, and the ready made food deli. I must admit perceptions of healthy food being nasty aren’t the case when it comes to this store. Has anyone been to Whole Foods if not, find the nearest one!! If so, how was your experience and what would you recommend?
On another note I was talking with an friend of mine that is into the whole tofu craze.. if anyone has tried tofu and liked it let me know?
P.S. I just notice my misspelled fields....please forgive my carelessness.

Love Whole Foods
My family goes to Whole Foods on the regular in Cali, and not because of health reasons. We're gourmets. Like fancy stuff like arugula for our salads, morel mushrooms ($40 a pound ) and high-end meat like veal.
I like their prepared food case. At the one in Torrance, Calif., I always get chicken medallions. Yum. Heat them in butter and capers.

NYC has a WIDE variety of health food/organiz stores that are great!
I eat tofu and soy products all the time. My Mom buys the squares at the Asian market and stuffs them with onions/garlic/etc. Those are sooo good. She also does a stirfry with brocolli, string beans, carrots and almonds that makes my mouth water just thinking about it!
Another soy meat to look for is gluten-based products. I don't know the brand, but one manufacturer makes these scallop things that are the BOMB when you cook them up. My Aunt used to cook it for me when I was a kid and it is still my favorite food.

I visited a Whole Foods Market in Philly (on South Street) that I loved. It felt so good to be eating healthy. The prices were higher than those of the average grocery store, but the food was worth it.

They did a segment on the news here on how we're making alot of money because of our mushrooms. Everyone started calling the news station to find out exactly what part of the wooded areas are the best to find them. $40 a pound for things we were careless about stepping on.......

Fresh Fields is absolutely wonderful! There is one about 5 minutes from me, and I used to work next door to one. I have 4 words for you- FAT FREE BLUEBERRY MUFFINS!!! They are off the chain!!! Their prices are high, but the quality of the food they sell is superior to any regular supermarket.
Also try the Bearitos brand of popcorn that they sell-the 50% less fat brand is awesome!

Fresh Fields is awesome. My family has been shopping there over 5 years now. Their prepared food is delicious. I like the Corn Cilantro Fritters. In New England they are called Bread and Circus.

I love Fresh Fields as well... my family has been shopping there since I was probly 11 or 12, we get our staples at the regular store and everything else from there. We go not just because of the quality but because we love good food and I think it's worth the cost.

I found that we have one of these in Atlanta, near my new apartment and I will be checking it out real soon.
Do they just carry gourmet foods or "regular" foods? This is my first time hearing about the store.

I love Whole Foods. They have one in DC that has a Jamba Juice it in and with these HOT muggy days, Jamba is my best friend.
I just can't get with some of their prices. Just plain high way robbery
