Otis has a Chi O Badge

So, I bought this badge on ebay two weeks ago and I'm awful... I have not sent the money yet because the deal seems fishy. Any suggestions to what I should do?

First of all- he did not contact me until 5 days after the sale was over and just told me the price- no address to send the check. I emailed him for his address. He writes back

Otis
1234 Main Street
Anywhere, USA (you know what I mean)

No last name. I feel funny sending a check with no last name on it. So I've blown it off. I have not heard from him. Am I being awful? Should I contact ebay? Am I being paranoid? I just don't want to lose $60.00 and not get the badge from Mr. Otis!

I wouldn't send him a thing without some credentials regarding who he is. You may want to forward your query to E-bay admin as a note for follow-up.

sorry to jump in, but as a seasoned Ebayer (unfortunately lol) -- There would be no way I would honor "Otis"'s offer. What kind of weirdo doesn't give you a last name?

Does he have any feedback?

I agree totally! Send E-Bay your concern that way they can take some sort of action so unsuspicious people don't get taken in by a possible scam!

there's some part of me that's thinking you have a lawsuit here...

i'm so american...so sue me, ha ha. But seriously, I think the auction is a contract (on the Web, in writing), saying that goods will be delivered for payment. I'm no Ebay expert, but it all sounds fishy to me.

Sorry to have crashed your board.

Crash our board???? As Elaine from Seinfeld would say "Get out"!!! We love when you come and visit and especially the advice and help you give!!! Stop by anytime!

Yeah- still have not heard from Otis so I'm filing this problem under "forget about it".

Thank you for all the advice gang! I always feel better about a decision if others agree with me!

Sue
