Talking Favorite "sister" movie

I just saw "Beaches" last night - I love that movie and it made me miss all my sorority sisters. My other favorite is The Color Purple- another tear jerker for me!

YOU'RE KIDDING ME! I never knew that! Although I haven't watched that movie since high school so I wouldn't have known what Chi Omega was anyway!

My favorite movies include...
Gone With The Wind
and
You've Got Mail

What do you get when you cross and Alpha Omicron Pi and a Sigma Phi Epsilon? A beautiful Chi Omega!!!

I'd be interested in knowing if you're right! That'd be awesome! I can't imagine that she wasn't a Chi Omega and put one of our composites there...but hey, who knows (it's Hollywood)!

Amy, that's similar to what I heard. I heard that one of Julia Robert's assistant's or wardrobe people is a XO, so they always add a little red and yellow to her movies. I've never noticed, but they say you'll see her wearing hats or what-not that look very ChiO-ish!

One of my best friends is related to the woman that the movie Steel Magnolias was based on so I'll ask her if she knows if she was a Chi O. It's one of my favorite movies but I had never noticed the composite! I also love Terms of Endearment.

has anyone ever seen the movie broke down Palace with Claire Danies?
I know it sounds weird but for some reason that made me love my sisters even more. It must be the total dedication they had to each other even though thye never really knew the truth. It didnt matter, they would always fight for each other. Thats how I see all my sisters.

I hope you gals don't mind if I add my $0.02!

ISU_XO...I too saw Beaches last night and though I've seen that movie a gazillion times, I still cry at the end...and I had that "That's the story of...that's the glory of love" song in my head the whole day.

Another one of our favorites is Dirty Dancing, and I know you gals saw that marathon this weekend!!! Because we all know..."NOBODY PUTS BABY IN THE CORNER!".

As much as I would like to say that it is a XO composite, I got out the DVD & zoomed 3 times & you can not tell what it says. There are over 200 people in the picture though. The word are tiny, but they do look like two words, the 1st shorter than the 2nd. I was looking at the scene before the wedding where the mom is pinning a corsage (sp?) on Shelby right in front of a cork board filled with pictures. Shelby steps away & you can see the comp clearly, except the words. If there's another scene that shows it better tell me & I'll check it out.

Heidi,
I did the same thing and couldn't tell what the picture said in the same scene. The picture above it looks like a bid day picture but again there weren't any letters on it or anything (that I noticed). My roomies thought I was crazy for staring at the same scene for 5 minutes! It was fun though.

Cool

A good Phi Mu friend told me that the Steel Magnolia girl was a Phi Mu and the pink colors are their's too. She was pretty confident about this.

Anyway, I loved both Beaches and Terms of Endearment. My favorite tear jerker is Simon Birch...I cry everytime I think about that movie. A group of us went and the whole row was bawling.

Hey Heather, did you ever find out if she was a Chi O. There's a thread in Chit Chat and someone claims she's a Phi Mu in the movie. Just wanted and curious to know.
