Get well to BOZ130

Please be advised that BOZ130 is being treated for a circulatory problem. He is in a hospital near Chicago and will be there for several days. I just received a phone call from him and he'll be without 'net access for the next few days.

Give 'em hell, Boz and get well soon! If he can make a phone call, that's a good sign.

ZAX,
Jono

Dear Bill,
I hope when You get out of the People Vet soon and they will have You up to 100%.

I am sure My Brother that You know that you have the respect of All of The Brothers.

Let us know how you are doing when you get a chance!

I am sure this was caused by hanging around with all of the young guys you do deal with!

Brother John, thanks for the info and all of Our prayers go out to him!

Here is a heartfelt get well from me... and here's hoping your hospital visit was a short and enjoyable (circumstances permitting) as possible.

Bros: I'm back...and hobbling. I developed a deep vein thrombosis (DVT...also known as a blood clot) behind my left knee the week after I got back from Orlando. It seemed to start out as a charley horse in my left calf, and got progressively worse.

This didn't keep me from doing all sorts of my usual activities, of course. I hobbled my way to a Cubs game (Beta-Omicron AA) & then drove down to Indy for DTD's convention & meetings, all the while wondering why the stupid cramp kept getting more painful.

By the time I got back to my hotel last Friday, I was running a 100 degree temp & noticed my left ankle was as swollen as if I'd blown it out playing HS football. When I finally returned to Chicago last Saturday nite, my whole left leg was about 25% larger (and noticeably redder) than my right leg.

I spent the last 6 days in a hospital near my home, so this is my first 'Net access. Thanks for your thoughts & prayers.

Now for the preaching part. This came about because I spend the bulk of my work day sitting down in my home office and don't get up enough, especially in the afternoon. I can design stuff for hours w/out moving around--it's part of the biz.

No matter where you work (or even if you're still an undergrad), don't sit @ your friggin' desks for long periods of time w/out getting up and stretching for a few minutes. DVTs can hit anybody @ any age, from what I've read.

Considering I worked out 4x last week, went to Wrigley and walked for around 2 hours @ IUPUI last Friday, I'm damned lucky that the blood clot didn't travel from behind my knee to someplace that could do real damage...my brain, heart or lungs.

Do yourselves a favor & move every now & then...

In ZAX & glad to be back,
BF

Boz,

I've heard of that happening on long flights but never really thought of it happening at home or in the office. Clots can indeed be dangerous.

Ruth, one of my best friends in high school, graduated from Northwestern. She got married and ended up in New Jersey. One winter she slipped on the ice and broke her ankle. The ankle was healing, but two weeks later it threw a clot nonetheless and she dropped dead on the spot. That's pretty damned dangerous.

You're lucky, and I thank you for the warning. Welcome back!

ZAX,
Jono

News flash: Sometimes a blood clot in the leg leads to having one in a lung. I actually had to reenter the hospital on Monday because of having shallow breathing. After a couple of days of treatment, I'm back @ Chez Boz.

For those of you waiting on me for newsletter-related stuff, I s/b getting fully back in the swing later this week. Sorry for my "accidental vacation", but sometimes the Almighty has other ideas on how we s/b spending our time.

In ZAX,
BF
