Harry Potter Book 7 Spoilers/Speculation
Found this information on mugglenet.com, thought we could discuss....
Debunked Rumors
Currently, there are a few about Book 7 and below you can find the ones which JKR has debunked.
Character Information
There will be no character named "Icicle," and JK said that she didn't recall saying there ever would be
Dumbledore is not Harry's relative
Harry is not related to Voldemort and he is not related to Salazar Slytherin
Lily Potter is not alive
Lily was not a Death Eater
Crookshanks is not an Animagus
Neville is not the son of Peter Pettigrew
Remus Lupin does not have a twin brother
Petunia is not a Squib
Dumbledore is not Harry/Ron from the future
Mrs Norris/Crookshanks will not be discovered as an Animagus
Plot Information
Harry will not become Minister for Magic
Peter Pettigrew’s silver hand will not kill Lupin
Lupin will not return as a DADA professor
The prophecy refers to Harry, and not in any way to Neville
The final part of the prophecy does not mean Harry has to kill Neville, or vice versa
Other
The title of the book will not be "Harry Potter and the Pyramids of Furmat"
No prequel books are planned (no books before Harry's time at Hogwarts)
"Keeper of the Keys" has no secret meaning
The Sorting Hat is not a horcrux
I have to ask, where do people come up with some of these debunked rumors.
Confirmation
Each of these points have been confirmed by an official JK Rowling source.
Character Information
We will find out something "incredibly important" about Lily Potter
We will find out who R.A.B. is
We will discover more about Dumbledore's past
We will discover where Snape's loyalties lie.
Something will be revealed about Petunia Dursley, although it will not be that she is a Squib
Viktor Krum will return (World Book Day, 2004 interview)
We will see a reappearance of Dolores Umbridge - "It's too much fun to torture her not to have another little bit more before I finish." (MuggleNet/Leaky Interview)
JKR has said, "There is a character who does manage, in desperate circumstances, to do magic quite late in life, but that is very rare..."
Plot Information
Harry will face Voldemort for the final time
Harry will be attempting to find and destroy Voldemort’s remaining Horcruxes
Harry will return to the Dursleys' during the school vacation, but the magical protection Dumbledore arranged will expire on his 17th birthday when he comes of age
Harry will visit Godric's Hollow
We will discover the reason for Sirius' death, and see a reappearance of the two-way mirror
We will see the wedding of Fleur and Bill Weasley
The fact that Harry "has his mother's eyes" will prove to be an important plot point
At least one character will die
Other
The last word is expected to be "scar," but may change
We will finally learn the full reason why some people become ghosts when they die and others don't
The final chapter, which has already been written, will detail what happens to the characters that survive
There will be no more Quidditch matches
I hate that it has been confirmed that another character is going to die, even though we know from the other books that either Harry or Voldemort has to die. Ugh.
I'm curious what this important secret about Lily is.
Thoughts?

I'm in my twenties too.
I didn't start reading the books until 2004. I finished books 1-5 in like a month and a half, then had to wait (like everyone else) until book 6 came out.
I doubt Lindsay Lohan would be in the movie, she's not British.
I wish it was already 2007, so OotP movie was out and Book 7 was out!

ASUADPi. You don't have to be British just to be in those movies!

I'm sad I'm so obsessed...when does it come out...?
I'll be even more sad when it's over, as much as the giant gap between books angers me, it kind of prolongs the excitement.
Great post, very interesting new info!

That's what I read somewhere, that JK only wanted British actors for main roles unless otherwise called for. (Like Viktor Krum).

I am going to be SOOOOO mad if Lindsay Lohan shows up in the Harry Potter movies. I have read numerous times about how JKR only wanted British actors (although she made a couple of exceptions). Apparently Robin Williams and Rosie O'Donnell want to be in the series so bad they offered to do it for free!!!

What I understood was that either JK Rowling or the producers of the series said that they "preferred" British actors, but in no way would an American actor ever appear in the series.

Sounds nifty. I have been listening to the HP books on tape since 2003.
I doubt that Lindsay Lohan would be in an HP movie. Who would she be playing anyway?

I wish I could say that. My family's British so I started the series in 1998 like a month after it came out. And then had to wait almost 2yrs for the next one, and then so on from there. There was nothing like knowing how awesome a book was and dying to read the next one, when everyone else still thought you were crazy for reading a "children's" book. Only cool thing is that I got my high school teacher to read it and she suggested it to our class way before Harry Potter mania caught on.
But yeah, waiting is NO fun!

I loved that SNL skit. Especially Horatio Sanz as Hagrid. Classic.
Anyway... I'm anxiously waiting for book 7 to come out.

When?
When approximately does the 7th book come out? I am so angry that I know that the only two people who are main characters that are destined to die if the other lives are Valdemort and Harry. So one or the other has to die, but both my sister and I are wondering whether she will stick to her roots and let Harry die off as some kind of a lesson to the younger audience or if she will create the happy- go- lucky/ fairytale "...and they lived happily ever after..." end that we as American are used to. I think she will stick to her roots and have Harry go in a courageous fight just so that the story is not wrapped in a bow and especially because she is getting progressively darker with the continuation of the series.

I think that she will kill Harry so that she won't have any pressure from her readers to write an 8th book of what happens to Harry after Hogwarts.
