question about frats and UGA
i was wondering about the frats at university of Georgia. What are the party frats, the scholarly frats, religous, etc? More specificly i was wondering what type of fraternities Lambda Chi Alpha, Kappa Alpha, Sigma Chi, Fiji, SAE, and Chi Phi are. Any help would be great.

Greek Rush
You are planning on rushing them?
Are you are student there currently?
Or planning on going?
First thing-never ever say frat. Fraternity.

Yeah, not saying frat is a good and simple point. It may get confusing, as brothers in southern fraternities may say "frat" or variations of that for funny or descriptive purposes, but just steer clear of it.

Charlie -
If you are going through rush at Georgia, go through with an open mind. I don't know about Georgia from personal experience, but they are probably like chapters everywhere: You will find all types of members within the chapters. My own chapter had great parties and had guys who were religious, scholarly, shy, cocky, etc. Just go into rush with an open mind and you will find a place to fit in. And listen to Jon1856: Don't say "frat".

Every fraternity is different at every school, which you probably know. XYZ may be the party fraternity at one school whereas they could be the scholarly fraternity at another. Don't limit your options right off the bat. In order to really find out what kind of brothers these fraternities have, you'll have to got through rush and get to know them. I'm sure some members here may be able to help shed a little light on their reputations, but in the end, it's all about you and how you feel when you actually meet the fraternities.
