If you look on the website for your school, there should be a page that has all of the frats/sororities. It may list some info about the individual chapters (like info about their house, if there is one, when they were founded at your school, what kinds of functions they have, etc.) After looking at that you may want to look at the webiste for individual frats (the national pages, I mean). When you get to school, talk to people, they can tell you what's up. At my school, the webpage is pretty good, but it's not updated very quickly (one of the listed frats is no longer on campus), but the info online is a good way to see the attitude of the house.
