I heard a story on the radio yesterday about VT-Engage. It's a mission to honor those who died in the VT tragedy by giving back to the community. I hadn't heard of it before, so I looked it up online. Here's the website if you're interested in learning more about it:

According to info I heard on the radio, the VT community is hoping other colleges and universities will participate as well. I sent the info to my KD chapter, keeping in mind it's difficult to organize something at the last minute. I have no idea whether they'll be able to pull something off (or if they even want to), but I wanted to share the opportunity with them nonetheless.
I'm posting this here for three reasons. One, I was impressed by the sentiment, and thought others would be interested in knowing about this opportunity. The fact that Tech students, faculty and alumni are helping themselves feel better by helping others is so admirable. I have even more respect for them now than ever. Two, if there are any VT students or alumni on GC who can share their experience with this mission, it'd be nice to hear first hand how the project is going. Three, if any orgs or individuals here want to contribute, it would be helpful to have some ideas.
