I am Legend- Spoilers Inside

I searched but didn't find.

I just saw it. What are everyone's thoughts on it?

I loved it.

I didn't read the book and only vaguely remember the previous movies based on the book. So I love the movie as it is without caring how "accurate" it is. I've heard the creatures were supposed to be a lot more human-like than they were in the movie.

Great movie or the greatest movie?
Will Smith gets th #1 spot at the box office AGAIN, this guy is so talented.
The concept was great, I felt they could have made the movie a little longer and developed the characters more, (who makes 90 minute movies these days?). I have a feeling that they were running close to budget and probably cut out a lot of scenes that they planned on doing. I would have also liked to have seen life in the survivor colony, maybe even the human race beginning to rebound.

blech

i saw it and it was well acted. will smith has definitely developed into a fantastic actor. i like sci fi movies and this one was disappointing. i expected alot more action and more gore. the ending--well it was ridiculous to me. i figured out the ending w/n the first half-hour. to me i had this same feeling with i, robot--big hype, big let down.

ditto....the sad part if there wasn't such comparable movies out there like 28 Days later, this one could have been a gem.

hated the CGI creatures.....

seemed like the last 1/3rd of the movie was rushed.

I liked the movie. It kept me on the edge of my seat and I never knew when one of infected humans would pop up. I hated the ending. I hated the fact that they killed him at the end.

I Am Legend by Richard Matheson can be found on Google Books.

Previous adaptations
1 1964 The Last Man on Earth
2 1971 The Omega Man
3 Some low budget movie that most people never heard of

The creatures were vampires in the book but this adaptation only slightly depicted them as vampires. I didn't see this movie as a horror or even a scifi. So I didn't watch it expecting a Dawn of the Dead or 28 Days. I'm sure the DVD will have some of the cut scenes in it and perhaps the sequel will show us what happened after the lady reached the survival camp. Except the sequel couldn't have Will Smith--maybe there won't be a sequel after all. Almost every movie has a cliff hanger, for example the most recent Resident Evil left us wondering how she's gonna get the world back.

I liked most of the movie, but I thought the end was WAY too rushed and I hate how he died in the end. I didn't care about the lady or the little kid--why did they have to survive? I also bawled when he had to kill Sam

Me too! I came home and hugged my puppy a little longer after I saw it.

Okay haven't seen it but I'm a spoiler nut...knowing that the dog dies, screw that!

My dad laughs at me because I'll bawl my eyes out for animals dying in movies but not so much for humans. I tell him it's because in most movies (minus 99% of comedies) someone is dying so you just get used to it.

Why Sam??!!!

The ending was not good, it just dribbled off and there was no conclusion. I did like the flashbacks, though. The Dark Seekers were kind of cheesy, though.

I saw it last night and I was would have liked to see what happened after Anna and the boy got to the camp.

My ideal ending would have been the dark seekers coming to their damn senses and letting *Will* help them!

The movie should have been a little longer and had more development.

The worst part was definitely when Sam died

Educating:

Your ending suggestion would've had the movie get slammed even more than it is. No one wants to see creature rehab, although the book supposedly makes the creatures more human-like and rational than the movie.

I think the movie was long enough. I did feel a sense of cliff hanger at the end. But I honestly did not want to see what happens in the camp. I assume what happens is that she hands the cure over to the military folks and things get back to normal somehow.

I was saddened that Sam died and that Smith truly thought he was the last human alive. For his sake, I wanted the woman to have driven so far to find that the camp had been overrun by those creatures.
