Talking Help me choose shoes for my bridesmaid dress!

I'm going to me in my friend's wedding this summer. It'll be outdoors (on grass), near the water, in a mosquito friendly area of southeastern Virginia. I get to choose which style of shoe to wear! The bride has to decide what color she wants us to wear though.

Here's the dress:

The shoes in the picture aren't available and I'm not sure what style to go with. Here's a link to look at the available shoes.

I sort of like these but I'm not sure:

I was in an outdoor wedding in North Carolina and had spiky type heels for the shoes and they kept sinking into the grass. It was very hard to walk. So, you want to pick something with a wider heel that won't sink in so easily. And don't forget your bug spray. You don't want to be all bitten up by the end of the wedding.

Also, I don't know how to avoid this, other than using silks, but the bees loved our flowers and we're standing there during the ceremony with bees all over our bouquets. It was a little easier to deal with them on our bouquets than the guys.. with their boutineirres (sp?). The poor ring bearer was freaking out with bees all over his boutinierre, just inches from his face.

I would say any of the pairs that do not have full ankle straps. Either the slip in pairs or the one with only a back strap on the ankle.

I have a pair of gold shoes I had to buy for a bridesmaid dress and haven't worn them in 2 years. So I hope you get to wear yours more than once!

I like the last pair. Although I was raised thinking that the bridesmaids' shoes should match the punch (that seriously is a rule down here), I don't really care that much anymore. Just make sure you can walk in them and not fall/trip/want to cut your feet off by the end of the day, and you should be fine.

The dress is VERY pretty by the way!

Thanks everyone!

ThetaSis~ Where have you been? Nice to see you around again.

I love the dress too. I'm still trying to figure out how it's cut super low without showing any bust!

I agree with no ankle strap, with the length of that dress it will chip up the line of your leg. The last one works for both no ankle strap, and not sinking into the grass.

I'm pretty sure if there's some standing water in the mountains there'll be some mosquitos.

I like the fourth and the last pair. I agree with AGDee - spike heels look great, but not in the great outdoors when it's marshy (unless you plan to go tippy-toe!).

I'm sure florists have dealt with the bee problem before - maybe there's a spray they can use on the bouquets?
