Convention 2006!

Our alumane chapter just received a packet of info and I see that the same documents are now posted on Everyday on the national website.

Sounds very exciting! Our alumane chapter is trying to budget in the trip for at least one member. We may end up just going for the last 2 days, though, to cut down on costs.

Anyone else going?

Info from website:

Join us for Convention 2006!

Washington, D.C.
June 29 – July 3, 2006

This year’s Convention theme is “Chi Omega: Leaders Across America.” The key result for Convention 2006 is to promote the lifetime Chi Omega experience and equip members with knowledge and skills that reinforce our common values and purposes so that we flourish as leaders.

What better place than our nation’s capital for sisters to come together to celebrate Chi Omega and honor collegiate and alumnae leaders who are truly making a difference on campuses and in communities throughout our country! Convention 2006 focuses on our New Member program – nurturing the next generation of Chi Omega sisters and preparing them to become successful leaders. We invite all Chi Omegas – young and young-at-heart – to connect with sisters from across the nation and attend Convention this summer!

To learn more about Convention 2006, go to www.chiomega.com/everyday to view and download all registration packet materials.

See you in Washington, D.C.!

Nut (and others):
Any idea on where to get a white dress for Convention? I went looking today to no avail. I saw a lovely pants suit, but it was $160 and I just couldn't spend that on something I'll never wear.

they have a bunch at filenes and macy's cause its almost prom time again...and for some reason white is a big color (ill never understand that!). otherwise try a bridal shop...they have lots of bridesmaids dresses there and usually you can pick from a bunch of colors and white is always an option. dont know how much they are but they always have sales too!! good luck!!

Oh, thanks for th idea. Unfortunately, that's a little fancier than I need. I did discover tons on ebay though, and after searching through a million, have a few that I am bidding on.

Yay ebay!

Yeah, the white dress deal is always a challenge. I think last time I looked, I found one at TJ Maxx.

I was just thinking I should go there to look for some new work clothes.

I got a new job!!! I'll be working at MasterCard at their headquarters in Purchase, NY (suburb north of the city and a 20 minute door to door commute for me!!!).

It was destiny, their logo is cardinal and straw afterall!!!
