Watermelon
Now that the summer months are drawing near, let's discuss watermelon. Specifically, do you put salt on your watermelon?

Yes, and on my canteloupe too. I can eat both without salt if there isn't any around, but I'd rather not.

I don't put salt on either; it just doesn't sound good to me. However, I don't really use salt all that much, so that may have something to do with it.

I've seen many people put salt on their watermelon, but I'm weird (according to most people I tell this to) and I don't like Watermelon, so I don't eat it.

I don't put salt on mine, but I do like to saturate it with vodka.

I want to throw up. Why would you salt your watermelon?? Salty watermelon? Gross.
I also heard in the South, you put sugar on your strawberries and I find that to be disgusting as well.

That's a Southern thing? I thought it was just a craving-too-much-sugar thing.
<---does it though no one else in her family does.
And I've heard of people eating peppermint with their pickles. Is that a Southern thing as well?

Peppermint with your pickles?!?
This is all stuff I would pay friends to eat. Hey Johnny why don't you eat some peanut butter with sardines and hot peppers and wash it down with a cup of olive oil for 5 bucks. And I bet in the South you all think that's normal too.

Salt on watermelon or cantelope makes the melon taste sweeter.
I put salt on watermelon, cantelope, apples, and grapefruit; I put sugar on strawberries.

I've actually heard older people (in their 70's, 80's now) doing a shot of olive oil before a night of heavy drinking.

I paid my friend to drink a tall glass of olive oil once. He drank it half way and had to stop to throw up. lol I take a shot of flax oil if I remember to but at least that has a hint of taste.
