Question The Brothers

Okay what did you guys think of the movie The Brothers?
I saw it last night and it wasn't that great. I mean the plot was all over the place, it tried to adress to many issues at one time. And the acting skills (by most members of the cast) was lacking.

other than that Morris Chestnut looked good though. Yum

I liked it, I went to the premier in my city when it came out 2 weeks ago. I will buy it as well. I agree it was all over the place, but remember it's just a movie for entertainment, and Morris Chestnut did entertain!!

Oh were the outakes at the end funny or what?

I enjoyed it. A soror and I went to see it and we were like..."True" and laughing most of the time. It's not a classic but it did address a lot of relationship-based "issues".
And, yes, Morris was looking good.
But...Bill Bellamy was holding it down too.

Cool

I think it COULD'VE BEEN made much better. The original idea expanded into a confusing array of plots that weren't put together well. They tried to compensate this with the casting-which I believe suffered with the addition of Shemar. They could've kept the story real by making the past relationship between Morris's father and his woman to have been one that included sex. Also, Morris's woman came back too easy, too soon. It was plainly too happy an ending to have been real. I like happy endings, but only when they are credible.

EYE CANDY...that's it. I agree with all of the criticism about the flaws of this flick. We are so hungry to see "us" on screen we will pretty much accept anything as good. Did anyone see the trailer for BoyZ in the Hood sequel? Oh, boy!

At the end of the day I was straight "hating". Brother Morris Chestnut needs to be MY man!!!!! (just kidding).
And by the way sister with the gun needed to be in serious THERAPY...gimme a break!

I still think Bill Bellamy is greasy, and his character didn't make me like him any more.
Morris Chestnut - YUM!
Also why was Shemar more so much browner in the film, I mean I know it was sunny but dang.
I agree with soror, we are so hungry to see ourselves that we don't care how bad the plot is.

The movie provided me with a few chuckles, but I wasn't really into it provided that the whole idea wasn't anything original. The characters and the actors playing those characters were typical roles. I didn't like Tatiana (sp?) Ali's character, she was just too grown for my taste, and so unlady like for a young girl. The whole Black man afraid of commitment idea is just so played out in the real world as well as on the tv screen, its time we found some new themes for our movies besides "growing up in the hood", and "messed up relationships". Than again, what movie is ever original regardless of the community it is portraying? Let's face it, Hollywood is not putting their best foot forward these days.

I liked the movie, it made me laugh a few times. I was loving Morris Chestnut, and I usually dig Shemar Moore but I just couldn't get with his messed up teeth. Overall I give this movie two thumbs up...

I saw it Saturday, and it was merely ok. Two thumbs in the middle. I was glad that it wasn't a clone of the Wood. I could watch Morris Chestnut read the phone book, he is too fine (I wonder if he'll be at the PBS conclave? LOL!!!)

Anyway, it seems lately that movies are starting to blur in to one continuous movie.

Wink

I thought it was pretty good, I was however not impressed with Bill Belamy's using the word b@*&% several times in the film, and I think he realistically portrayed the ignorance in which some Black men stereotype Black women as catty baby makers and end up pursuing bi-racial relationships.

Oh yeah Morris Chestnut is fine but he could work on his abs and chest a little more
