IPod Nano HELP!!!!!

I seriously thought buying an IPod nano would make my life easier, but it's made it hell.

Someone please help.

I have over 400 songs on my playlist. I didn't want ALL the songs to go to my Ipod, but they did. Now I can't delete any of them directly from my Ipod.

When I plug the Ipod into the laptop, iTunes doesn't even recognize it's there. I can't "sync" it, I can't even just delete songs that I know are on the iPod.

I personally am finding this the biggest nightmare. If I knew it would be this hellish to use, I wouldn't have spent the money.

Can someone PLEASE help me! I'm at my wits end. I'm so ready to say "screw it" and see if I can return it being complete unsatisfied with it.

(I'm sure my frustration is not only stemming from the ipod but from work as well. I'm usually much more "grounded").

If you find this hellish and a nightmare, I am sure you have difficulty drinking water and breathing in air as well. Ask HBADPi for advice.

Rudey-
I'm pretty sure I asked for advice, not for you to be sarcastic. Geez. Sometimes I have to wonder about you.

1. If it won't play or is locked, you might want to try a 'hard reset' - flip the 'hold' switch (on top) from off to on, then hold the Menu and Select buttons for ~10s until the Apple logo comes up (just like when it first starts).

2. If it's just not showing up in iTunes but will play the music on it, you can try to uninstall/reinstall iTunes w/ the latest version, or the hard reset.

3. In the future, you should turn off the auto-import feature and change your iPod to manual import of music. This will avoid your "problem" of moving over all your music.

4. You can also set up playlists on your iPod - since your iPod can hold well over the 400 songs on your playlist, this may alleviate your 'problem' of having all your music on the iPod (and still allow you to access anything you want in the off chance that you actually want to listen).

And all I ask is to not deal with retarded drama-princess posts. We don't usually get what we ask for though

Thank you. I'll definately try these when I get home.

That makes about as much sense as buying a wedding dress before you even have a boyfriend.

Rodney-
Question, how do you go about deleting songs from your ipod? Is there away?

Did you lose the user manual? The one that came with my iPod addresses all of these questions.

If mine was supposed to come with one, it didn't. I got a flimsy tri-fold paper. That was it.

Oh wow! I had some similar questions when I first got my regular-sized iPod, but the booklet that came with it answered them all. KSig RC was pretty spot on with his suggestions.

They got rid of the booklets...I got it with my Ipod mini but not my Video Ipod...everything from the booklets are on Apple's website, it was just their way of bringing their costs down so they can sell them a bit cheaper. They did this awhile back with the Ipod minis...you use to get a regular charger adapter in addition to the USB one, then they dropped the prices $20 and took out the extra charger.

When it shows up in iTunes, you can click right on your iPod's name - it'll show the entire library, and you just click on songs and press delete.

This only removes them from the iPod; they will still be stored on whatever computer they were originally located.
