DePauw Rush Results
Rush results from the #1 Fraternity and Sorority Scene in the nation:
SORORITIES
Alpha Chi Omega 42
Alpha Phi 41
Pi Beta Phi 41
Kappa Kappa Gamma 40
Kappa Alpha Theta 37
Delta Gamma 36
Delta Zeta 16
FRATERNITIES
Phi Delta Theta 34
(made up for last year's small pledge class)
Phi Kappa Psi 28
Alpha Tau Omega 22
Delta Upsilon 21
Sigma Chi ~20 (don't know for sure)
Sigma Alpha Epsilon 18
(after last year's class of ~40)
Delta Tau Delta 14
Phi Gamma Delta 13
Beta Theta Pi 10
Sigma Nu 5
Delta Chi 4
Numbers might seem small for the greek system being so large, but it's important to remember DePauw only has 2200 students in the first place.
Other fun facts:
Kappa got 5 girls named Sarah
Alpha Phi got 2 sets of twins, DG 1
The hot rumor on campus is that unless one house picks up a lot of cob's, they'll be closing, but nothing is for sure yet.
I don't know what the quota number was for sororities; the rules here are confusing with some girls in their second semester having sophomore status and other things that can affect the maximum.

Looks like things are going fairly well at DePauw. Our Alpha chapter has some amazing ladies, and I'm sure they got more fabulous ones this time around

One of our own just posted her daughter's rush thread (she pledged DG) at DePauw.

I'll admit I don't know much of anything about the DePauw greek system so I don't really know what the dynamic is there, but from poking around their website, I did find it somewhat strange that for a campus where 71% of the student body belongs to a fraternity or sorority, they've apparently lost three chapters in the last fifteen years, with another one possibly going soon?

Yes....DZ did give out some snapbids....actually they're still giving out some more snap bids as two girls accepted bids just today.

And I have to say, I am DAMN proud to be one of those four Delta Chi pledges. (computer error caused low turnout...meh...go back to scantron based rush!)

Awww, I've got such a soft spot for the men of Delta Chi. Congratulations!

It's rumors like that that make the collegians from the "rumor" chapter very upset and it very well could not be true. Only the (inter)national organization knows what the plans for each of their chapters are. Try not to spread rumors as it weakens the greek system as a whole.
I'm speaking from experience here...those rumors were going around about the chapter I advise, spread by another sorority's members during recruitment who apparently felt the need to comment, and affected their recruitment. And said chapter is not going anywhere...as a matter of fact International is hoping to find the chapter a new house sometime soon.

Right..it ws rumored that either/both Sigma Nu or Delta Zeta would shut down if rush didn't go well. From what I understand, these rumors seem to re-appear every semester, and yet nothing has happened to date...hmmmmmmm.
Consider too, that it would be totally counterproductive for Snu to close. They are still rebuilding after being kicked off campus, so of course it's gonna be a small house for a while. In fact, they nearly doubled the size of their chapter during rush!
As far as DZ, yet againm impractiacal. They serve a very good small house niche on campus, and they didn't do too bad with rush either!
Right now, the only way a house could get shut down would be if they got into trouble with nationals or the University...not rush numbers! (which btw, Phi Psi is apparently in a fair bit of trouble over hazing.....runor (and ONLY a rumor) has it that the University may force them to drop their entire pledge class.)

I'm ashamed to say I know exactly what you're referring to. It's true but really sad.
