i was approached by a coworker who is an initiated member. the semester after she was initiated, she moved due to a family emergency. she claims she paid her new member dues and was initiated and never heard about the chapter when she moved after she expressed concerrn and interest to continue being involved. she never did recieve her initiation #!, and all contacts and requests for information to the chapter have been in vain. advised that she contact IO. has anyone ever dealt or heard of this situation?? any recommendations I can relay to her are greatly appreciated.

I would DEFINITELY have her contact IO. If she doesn't know her member number they can look it up with just her maiden name. They will be able to help more than anything. Tell her good luck!

I had another idea. Is the chapter a deactivated one? Maybe there is a local Alumnae group either in your area, or in the area of the collegiate chapter that might be able to help with contacting the chapter. Just a thought.

she has contacted IO by email twice, attn: Meghan Vicinus, and has recieved no reply. i would love for her to attend zeta state days with me and some of the other girls who will be in town for the event but were not sure how to go about it, she has no membership # available to register. at this point this situation has gone from unfortunate to absolutely ridiculous. any suggestions???

Does she receive her copy of Themis? If so her member number is printed on the back with her name and address. I would call IO directly, instead of emailing them. They are always very friendly and helpful. The telephone number is on the official website homepage. Good luck!

she should phone i.o. and explain the situation to them. the number is 317-872-0540. i don't see why your friend(and new found sister) could not attend zeta day if she wants to-since there are no "secrets" divulged at any time-, even if her membership question has not been cleared up before zeta day rolls around. incidently, since she left the chapter after she was initiated, as long as she left as a member in good standing(not owing any $) she would have been considered an alumna.

a friend of mine who is a member of another sorority attended a zeta day here in florida and was welcomed by everyone.
