Post Just wanted to know...

First and foremost giving honor to my lord a savior Jesus Christ, today on his Birthday. To all the Ladies Of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. I want to say hello and Merry Christmas. I have a question to all:

Was I the only one, who really was not into the Christmas spirit? By this I mean the Christmas parties and the cards and the gifts, and etc... to me this year did not feel like Christmas at all. I have the lord in my heart and in my mind but everywhere that I went it seems as if I was not the only one who wasn't in the mood for fronting. So in a sense has Christmas become to commerical or is it just me?

Thanks for your time and consideration. May you have a blessed day and may christ follow you where your heart/head rest....

Funny that should ask.
This morning I got up and went to church to help serve the homeless. I was there until 3:30pm'ish. I am in NY...specifically the heart of Harlem. I am not home in the sense of family being nearby, but quite frankly I just did n't feel like traveling today. I had plenty of invitations to hang with friends and their family. Sister girl was really tired so, I took a nap. My little nap turned into 4 hours. I think in general holidays like Christmas are totally overrated. I think folks should regularly practice acts of giving and loving. I am at a point where I refuse to behave a certain way because, I am told I should.

Geesh...I sound like a scrooge.

Seasons Greetings,

I also was not feeling that good ole Christmas spirit. I went to my hometown to visit with the family and friends. I love going home, but I too was invited to a lot of things. I felt a little rushed. I did not go to any parties.
On Sunday, I went to worship service and after church my nieces begged me to take them to Mobile (which is over an hour drive). I really did not want to go, but I got tired of them calling me every five minutes asking me to take them to the mall.
I tried to visit everybody I could, but I could not please everybody. I know I will be getting phone calls tomorrow from the friends that I did not get to visit. They do not seem to understand that every since that I got married that I have two families and my time has to be divided with his family and mine.
But to answer your question. I do think that Christmas is getting a little too commercial. I feel that people have forgotten the real reason for Christmas. Sorry for the long post.

I thought I was the only one who felt weird. Christmas just doesn't feel the same to me. Today, I did go and see folks, but I just wasn't in the mood to. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed hanging out with family, and unwrapping gifts and stuff, but it's just not the same. I had a better feeling while sitting in the Christmas Eve service!

I think I could be going thru a nostalgic moment, or something. Back when I was younger, everyone used to come down and visit, and we all used to trip out and play games until really late. Now, since all of my cousins and I are getting older (my sister, who was the youngest of the group, is 19) things really aren't the same. Has anyone else gone through that?

Season's Blessings,
PrettyPetite

Well back in 1985 my mother casually "replaced"
Christmas with Kwanzaa. Now at twelve years old (so now I'm telling my age), I was not happy!!

But now I can't wait until December 26 to celebrate Kwanzaa!! The feeling of Unity is wonderful. For those of you who are familiar with Kwanzaa, and the Seven Principles, you know exactly what I mean!!
