I Hate V-Day

Ok so it is Valentines Day and every where I go every one is like "happy V-day, what are your plans" and I am "Sleep and study" and their answer 'oh so you do not have a boyfriend, but you are pretty. How strange"

I can't wait till tomorow when people stop this stupid crap!

Even the mall is crazy, the little flashing light board outside the mall has flashing electronic Valentines, some of them have "will you marry me"

Come 02/15/04, Christia needs some insanity!

I hate V-day too. But I'm going out drinking with my single friends.
I don't care if I don't have a man, I just don't want to sit at home by myself while everyone else goes out.

I think everyday should be Valentine's Day. Wouldn't that be nice?

Valentine's Day is a matter of attitude. Whether you're with someone or not, you have the ability to choose if you're happy or not.

If you don't have someone, pick someone! Isn't there someone in your life who will possibly never get a Valentine's Day card, or flowers, or any thing of the sort? Would it absolutely kill you to send an anonymous card or gift? How about picking up a bouquet of flowers at a supermarket, and pass a few out to strangers? Or just bury your own face in the blooms, and let people see how lovely you look while you're beaming with the pleasure of flowers!

Look, you can sit inside and feel sorry for yourself, or you can make the most of the day. I learned this lesson a few years back, and haven't moped on a Valentine's Day since!

It's never the wrong time to make someone else happy!!

eta: In case you think I'm being a hypocrite, I'll be visiting a senior citizen's home, then my mom in the hospital today. Later, I'll indulge in a little chocolate & old movies. But I have this feeling that I'm going to have more fun than those of y'all that are sitting home and moping!

I'm also going out drinking with my single friends. It will probably more fun that having some random date (I did go out with a guy last night, but I really don't want to spend V-Day with some guy I'm lukewarm about).

This is a great idea, and would PROBABLY make people feel better but most are way too busy feeling sorry for themselves.

Not having a Valentine is not the end of the world people, and it really shouldn't have the power to make you hate the day. Just go out and have fun anyway.

I couldn't agree more...it's just one day people...why begrudge the people who are happily "whatevered" just because you might not have a specific special someone? For many years my special someone was my mom or my sister or one of my girlfriends. I have a BF now, but if it was one day only that he showed me he cared or thought that I was special and acted like a total moron for the rest of the year, what good is that? Why allow yourself or anyone else to feel bad just because you are who you are and you are not with someone else?

YOU ARE SPECIAL TOO! Buy yourself a valentine's card...better yet buy one for your best friend, sig other, sorority sister and get over the hating the "V-Day" madness...

i hate this year's v-day b/c my parents have secluded me in their house b/c the dr said "bed rest"......so i can't go see my b/f.....and since he's black, he's not allowed in the house. so we had a big talk last night......i'm so tired of dealing with this. emotionally exhausting....and he's starting to get really worried about our future b/c of how much i was upset and crying last night, as am i.....don't know what to do.

happy v-day to me....

Why I'm not too fond of Valentines Day:

There's entirely too much PINK.

We had a VDay party yesterday for my 3 years olds. After all the sugar their parents sent for them to eat, I'm surprised the teachers made it out alive.... One of the little boys kept jumping up and down saying, "More choc'ate! More choc'ate!" Another kept running around head butting us in the rear end...

I can't hang out with my best friend (a guy) today without everyone asking us if we're dating.

My grandmother invited me over to spend the day with her "so I won't be miserable". I actually have plans today that I'm excited about. Please don't assume singleness means misery.

I am not a big fan of the day myself.
so I try to pamper my self, get my nails done, go shopping what ever.
Remember its a day about love, you love your parents, your pets, you love...
