unique_D,
Glad you are interested in learning about all the NPHC Sororities, especially Zeta. As my Sorors have stated, the best way to know if the Sorority is the right one for you is to get to know her members and mission. You are right...Zeta is on the road a bit less travelled, which we encourage(every woman is simply not a "Zeta Woman"...) and it's more difficult to find the "prospect boards" and other sites that sometimes generate inaccurate information about the Sororities anyway.
Candidly though, you will NEVER have enough information about Zeta before you apply for membership. I have been in the Sorority since 1993 and there are still new things I learn about her everyday. I will tell you that I probably knew less about Zeta than I did about the other two larger sororities before I applied. At some point, after you've researched, and talked and questioned to your heart's content, you have to say "do I think I can make an impact within this Sorority?--see, it's not so much about what the Sorority can do for YOU, but more about what your talents, resources and personality can lend to the missions, goals and objectives of the Sisterhood.
I selected Zeta because I felt she would be the most receptive to what I could provide to her. In turn, her members and other members of the Blue and White family made me feel like a true Blue family member, and I believe in and stand by the four principles upon which my Sorority is founded.
Was I 100%, willing-to-swear-on-someone's-grave positive that is was the absolute best Sorority for me when I filled out my application for membership? No, and if I looked deep, deep in the soul's of most Sorority and Fraternity members within the NPHC, I doubt if they could say differently. I have seen enough disenfrancished members in every NPHC organziation that I know this is not the case. What you have to use at the end of the day, is your gut, base-level instict. At my base level, I "knew" Zeta was the best Sorority for me, and ultimately, she has never given me any reason to believe differently.
God's Blessings on your search, and hopefully if your path leads to Zeta, you too will understand why Zeta's members "love her ever and foresake her never".
Best,
Shela
