I'm feeling sweet tonight...Here are a few relevant threads. Anything related to southern-style recruitments in the Rush forums would also be helpful to you.
I wouldn't suggest looking for recommendations on this board. You should seek out women you know personally to do this for you. Contacting your local Alumnae Panhellenic chapter would be a start.
ask around amongst your current and former teachers to find if any are sorority members or if they know anyone in a sorority. ask your friends(both female and male) if their moms or another female family member are sorority members. have your parents ask their friends and/or co-workers if they know anyone who is an alumnae member or even a collegiate member of a sorority. ask women at your church. if you can find one sorority member, she may know other women in different sororities to introduce you to.
most sorority women are more than happy to provide you with the name of members of others sororities with whom they are friends, so don't be afraid to ask them if they know any other sorority women. and be sure to write thank yous to anyone who does write you a rec.
Do keep in mind that if you are looking for alumnae on this site to write you recs, some of them will only write them for women that they've met personally.

I also agree on asking around for finding people to write you rec's. I was quite surprised actually, as it did not seem like greek life was very common among adults/family friends who I knew. Once one of the women at the barn where I ride out found out that I was rushing in the fall, she not only wrote a rec for me, but also introduced me to other women of different affiliations who were able to write rec's as well.
Somewhat sad note, but also an interesting Greek tie. My 5th grade teacher (who I adored) passed away about a month ago of cancer. Reading her obituary in the newspaper, I learned that she was a Delta Gamma. So, ask any of your teachers (including ones from elementary school).
