Fess up fatty

I just want everyone to know that during the holiday season I gained 12 LBS. Does this happen to anybody else? Granted I usually gain a couple of pounds ( like 4 or 5 ) but 12? I've really outdone myself this year.

I usually gain a couple pounds, but that's more because I'm traveling to my parents and in-laws, and don't have time or a place to work out.

I heard in my Weight Watchers meeting that the average "holiday gain" (Thanksgiving to the New Year) is 10 lbs. This year I gained 5.8 lbs. And since I let myself go over the holidays its harder to get myself back on track.

I only gained 3lbs. Which is pretty damn good for a pregnant chick.

All the nuts, chocolate and dairy products set my Crohn's off big time, so I lost 8 pounds... It comes back fast when I lose it that way though.

I actually lost weight -- probably 5-8 pounds. The holidays were really stressful for me this year, and when I get stressed out I eat way less.

I know, that seems really wild! If you go by what the nutritionists say, that would be an extra 35,000 calories you're eating over that time period (because supposedly it takes 3500 extra calories to gain 1 pound of fat)...I don't know anyone who could eat that much! Maybe they're counting "the holidays" as being the time between Thanksgiving and New Year's? That'd make a lot more sense.

I've heard the statistic as 7 pounds between Thanksgiving and New Year's in the past. "The holiday season" encompasses all of that time and that's when there's so much food in the office that you seriously don't want to ever to see food again after New Year's!

I didn't gain any weight this year, but then again, I got the stomach flu 3 days after Christmas. lol

I gained like 6lbs last year and was determined not to repeat that.

I was sick over the holidays too. Granted that helped me not to gain any weight, but I also was so bad that I ended up staying in on New Year's Eve. This was the first year I think that I didn't gain at least something over the holdiay, so I was thrilled...except for the feeling ill part.

I managed to lose 5 pounds, maybe an ounce or two either way. I've been crazy busy, though.

I did pretty good this year. Gained 1/2 of a pound over the holidays.

Damn good considering I have my wedding anniversary, Christmas, birthday and New Years Eve all within 2.5 weeks of each other
