Talking ZTA Ladies!

I'm looking for special traditions from the different chapters of ZTA around the US. If your chapter has a special tradition that you know isn't done by other chapters, or you have special events unique to your chapter, please respond! Just jot something down,

During Zeta week, we read letters to the soon to be initiated sisters. The letters are from their parents about their special qualities and why they make their parents pround. These letters are a great way to make the parents feel like they are involved and are an awesome way to end up the new membership period! There is never a dry eye when the letters are read.

Thank you! Your reply just gave me a great idea for my FRED program this week (I like to let everyone know what's going on in other chapters) That's a really sweet tradition :-)

At my chapter, we don't get our big sisters during the Big/Lil ritual. We do something fun. My favorite is when the big sis decorated 2 grocery bags so they were identical. You had to put the bag on your head, go out on the beach, and find the matching bag. Whoever was wearing it was your big sis!

On the night of their initiation, all the pledges sit in a circle in a room together. They write their name on the top of a piece of paper and then passes it to the next girl who writes them a message on it. That is continued until everyone has written everyone else a message. The letters are NOT shown to the girls until their pledge class graduates and then they are able to take something with them from their class

Thumbs up

We do this too! It's an excellent way to get parents involved with their daughters sorority life. (especially when there are a few parents who aren't too keen on the idea of sororities), it helps to make them accept it.

Hi Zetas!! I just was browsing through some other sororities areas, and since we have a large and wonderful ZTA chapter, I decided to look at yours, all of these ideas are really sweet and your new members should be proud to call themselves Zetas!
