What a great prototypical college town. I went to school there from 1965 to 1969 and still try to get back yearly for Homecoming and occassionally lecture in the Telecommunications School.
(If you'd like to buy a nice little studio condo, we still own the one our daughter lived in when she was there.)

Rashid,
I'm thinking seriously of heading to Columbus next weekend to see my dad.
If I do, I'll probably try to get down to Ohio University, the Alma Mater, since I can't make Homecoming this year due to a new job.
Is the 10th a Tuesday? I have to be back to work on Wednesday.
DA

Wow, thats kinda strange actually in a good way. I've recently changed to a Bachelor of Arts and my minor is going to be Communications. Mind if I throw you the occasional question sometime, Delta?

Yup, the 10th is that Tuesday. I will be speaking to the NPHC on that night -- you're free to join us for that, or dinner beforehand.

I'll give my dad a call tonight or tomorrow and see if a visit would work out, and see if there are flights that would work with my work schedule.
I've been trying to get over there for a few months and it hasn't worked out.

No problem. Two of the schools in the Scripps College of Communication are award winners and considered among the best in the country -- The Scripps School of Journalism and the School of Telecommunication (Radio and TV). The School of Visual Communication, while fairly new, has turned out a number of Pulitzer Prize winners.
The campus is beautiful, and as I said before, it is the prototypical college town. The only problem is that it is 75 miles to the nearest real city -- but that was OK with me.
I won't even mention that it was high on both the Playboy and Princeton party school list. (Both of which I think are questionable, but it is a pretty good party school)

Three in a row.
Looks like a Columbus/Athens trip this coming week isn't going to work -- no awards seats left on United.
Another time.
