Crazy Questions
Ok, I was just sitting here, working on my Christmas list. I went outside for a second and my brain went in a crazy direction. I don't know if this happens to other people, or maybe I am just soo wierd . . . Anyway . .
I have an idea, if it takes off as a fun thread then great, if not, no loss. Here it is. My crazy brain came up with a stupid question. (actually kind of gross but stupid mostly)
Does a persons saliva have calories or carbs or vitamins or anything like that? (Ok and to get a little grosser . . . ) Of course your own saliva wouldn't add calories to your diet but would someone elses or would it just be like water?
Ok you are wondering now what is the point? I thought that would be a fun thread. I was gonna call it "stupid questions" but then I thought that might be too mean so I went with "crazy questions"
Rules - DON'T BE MEAN. Answer the stupid/crazy question then ask your own. Understand that everyones brain goes off into odd directions so realize that you might not be where the questioner is when answering their question. You can cut and paste the answer from the net or just give your opinion. Make it clear that it is just an opinion if that is the case.
OK ANYONE know the answer to the first crazy question?
This would be open to any glo so if you aren't ADPi then you are still welcome to enlighten.

I'll bite (read: I'm a sucker!). I know that certain other emissions from one's body do have calories when other people are involved, so I'm going to say that yes, saliva does have calories.
Okay, y'all know that I'm new to the whole dog scene. I know that cats have a need to make the annual run up the Christmas tree every year, that it's a cat thing. But do dogs look at Christmas trees and think, "Woo Hoo! Indoor plumbing!"?

HAHA It is so funny that you said that! I was at a Christmas Party the other night and someone mentioned they had just bought their tree. But before they even got the chance to decorate it- the dog came over and decorated it first! The dog peed all over it!
I don't have a question at this point in time- so someone else can ask one! I also don't really know if that was truly an answer! haha

Okay, here's a question: Can you eat those little silver ball dragee things that are on cookies?

Yes- because I have before and I didn't die.
Next crazy question: Exactly what does Santa drive in places where there is no snow for his sleigh? I've heard of gators and a pontoon boat in Louisiana and Florida swamps, but what about states like Arizona, New Mexico and Texas? Inquiring new Texans would like to know.

I think it is still a sleigh but with "magic." I live in Alabama and he comes to my house every year so either it is magic or maybe rollerblades are installed for warmer climates.
OK Do you personally know anybody that is offended by "Merry Christmas?" ( I promise I am not trying to start something I was just wondering if it is only the south that people just don't get upset if they hear Merry Christmas, I mean even if they are Jewish they don't get mad they just smile and say Happy Holidays or whatever - furthermore I wouldnt get mad or upset if a Jewish person said Happy Hannukkah (sp?) during that time. I would just smile and wish them a wonderful holiday.)
If you find that question too argumentative then I have another crazy question. Why do I get the urge to yell or scream in a quiet room full of people just to see what would happen? Is it cause I am crazy or is that normal :P

Santa's Sleigh ...
Well I know that in Santa Fe,NM they get snow, but I wouldn't know about Santa's Sleigh. I can tell you about the festival of lights (Hannukah)

FWIW, and this is not meant to be argumentative, I have not personally met anyone who resented my saying, "Merry Christmas." In fact, as I have Jewish cousins, they tend to wish me a Happy Chanaukah right back! It gives us a chance to share the traditions of each culture - I know that I was quite impressed the first time I heard what Kwanzaa was all about!
So my question is this: Is it really worthwhile to make a New Year's Resolution?

Personal opinion: No. I don't do it anymore. No one ever keeps their resolutions, and it just ends up being one more thing to feel bad about.
I'm sure there are some weird people out there who keep their resolutions, so for them I'd say it's probably worthwhile. I've pretty much given up though, cause I know if I'm going to do something, a resolution isn't going to make a difference.
Oh, and as to the sleigh question: No, we don't tend to get snow here in Texas, but I was raised still with Santa riding a sleigh. I've never heard anything different.
Besides, when you think about it... The sleigh flies with the reindeer, so it doesn't really NEED snow.
So, there's the opinion of a born and bred TEXAN! Haha.
