student gambling is a growing problem nationwide

Lehigh University officials say students agree to a code of conduct when using computers on campus, but their use of personal computers is not monitored by the university. However, if a student realizes he has a gambling problem, university counselors are provided to help, said Dina Silver, university spokeswoman.

''We don't have any evidence that gambling is a problem on campus,'' Silver said. ''That recognized, we realize that student gambling is a growing problem nationwide.''

that story is a really sad one. my little bro goes to lehigh and that kid was his class pres. how unfortunate that eh felt he had no other option than to rob a bank.

im just glad the press didn't twist it around to make it an anti-greek thing. since he was a fraternity man and brothers took him to the bak unknowingly.

Student gambling is definitely a growing problem, and with the proliferation of online gambling sites, I think it is just going to get worse. I remember when I first started as Greek Advisor here at SIUE, we had a student govenment officer and fraternity member, who had lost $5,000 through gambling at the riverboat casinos in one month. He was going into serious debt, and I wonder if things changed after he graduated.

Thumbs down

Okay, Gambling is and can be an Addiction!

Hell, when I went to The Pitt. Ks. there was open gambling and I was old enough to go to Adult places that did !

But, I was smart enough to know that I had little money to lose gambling instead of eating, paying My Dues, and going to Chapter Functions.

The problem today is the fact that there is this type of mind set. Gamble today and I will win what I lost yesterday!

OMG, I lost all of My Money, what should I do! OOOOH, I think I will rob a bank, break into a House or Business, or sell Drugs to get cash!

This was stupidity at the highest extreme. Why feel sorry for this individual, no one made Him do it did they?
