I'm not involved in any fantasy leagues but I know plenty of people who'd freak if their fantasy football got taken away, and I think this is pretty ridiculous. To say that player stats, etc. are "intellectual property" sounds...well, for lack of a better word (hey, it's early!), ridiculous.

yeah i dont see how you can claim statistics as property. statistics are just totals and averages of performance. itd be like the weather channel claiming rainfall numbers as their own property...

Fantasy sports keep people interested in the sports more. Especially in football, people are now interested in hearing news throughout the week instead of just hearing about the major news or the league or their team. TV networks and other sources know this by providing better stats and tv shows based on fantasy sports. I couldn't see fantasy sports being taken away but this could do away with the free sites such as yahoo, etc.
