The Africa Channel

Have any of you taken the time to watch its programming? (If your cable provider has it available)

I saw a few minutes of Big Brother Africa. I was . It was total opposite to what we are accustomed to. The majority of the house guests were non-white and there was ONLY one white in the house.

Another day, I watched a show looking for models. GCers, you would not have been disappointed with the outcome. The contestants were mainly....non-white.

I'll have to check and see if I have this channel. Thanks for the heads up.

I watch the Africa Channel occasionally. While flipping through the guide, "Big Brother Africa" caught my eye, so I tuned in. The episode I saw wasn't as exciting as an episode of our Big Brother. Some episodes consist of two people sitting in chairs and discussing the show. Maybe it's the host and an evicted houseguest discussing the time in the house....

I would love to see the model show! When does it come on? What is it called? I may have to search the guide.

<crash>

I get the Africa Channel at home, and found a couple of soaps that were interesting. Generations and Isidingo, both of which come from South Africa. They're nothing like the American soaps we get here.

Has anyone seen the "Face of Africa" model show?

I'm surprised I haven't heard of this channel yet. Is it only available on digital cable (with all the three-digit channels)?

You can check the website to see if it is available in your area: The Africa Channel

Sidenote: Some of the programming is old, such as the Face of Africa pageant. I was watching last night and they said they were crowning the winner for the year 2000. Maybe they don't have much pogramming yet (as it appears from the website).....

If it is not yet airing in your area, please CALL your local cable, satellite or television service provider and DEMAND the Africa Channel!
