in no particular order...go ahead and laugh at my eclectic music tastes...
1. R.E.M. - It's the End of the World as We Know It (And I Feel Fine)
(I know ALL the words!)
2. R.E.M. - World Leader Pretend (from the Green album - the lyrics are AMAZINGLY insightful)
3. Third Eye Blind - Tattoo of the Sun (just a really freaking cool song)
4. Chuck Carrier - Faulkner's Notes (if anyone here has heard of him I will be surprised. local Gainesville musician)
5. Sarah McLachlan - I Will Remember You (special personal memory song. makes me want to cry)
6. U2 - Mysterious Ways (more deep lyrics. "To touch is to heal, to hurt is to steal, if you want to kiss the sky better learn how to kneel")
7. DJ Laz - Ese Morena (first taste of Latin music from S. Florida friends I met freshman year of college. 6 years later and I LOVE the music, love Latin dancing - salsa, merengue, bachata, all of it)
8. Sister Hazel - All For You (the anthem of my freshman year - the band is from Gainesville and I bought their CD BEFORE they made it big! Ha! I knew them "when"! Aren't I cool? I'm on the video too - they filmed it at a concert on my 19th birthday, 1999)
9. The Samples - Shine On (awesome band but they broke up! I think they coulda made it big. sad sad sad!)
10. Weezer - Undone (The Sweater Song) (How FUNNY is this??? Love it love it love it!)
would also like to note that virtually everything ever done by the Beatles, Pink Floyd, R.E.M., U2, and my Gainesville people Sister Hazel, Big Sky and Tom Petty totally deserves recognition as Highly Honorable Mention!
...and my favorite song of the day...
Nelly - Number One
...because it expresses what I'd like to say to everyone who's tried to F*** with me in the last two months. Screw you. I AM NUMBER ONE you jealous petty little twits. But I'm not bitter...hahahaha!
