So one of my clients is needing a billboard here in town. I have been trying for about three weeks to get the billboard company to return my calls. I call over there this afternoon and speak to the secretary and she tells me that they are no longer in the billboard business - they sold their local stock to a company in Austin. She gave me the number for the new company.
I call the company and speak to the secretary and ask for a Kathy (sales person). She's out but she will call me back. About 30 minutes later I get a call from the 512 area code. Its a Jo. I ask what happened to Kathy. Jo tells me that Kathy is her boss and she asked that Jo handle the sales call. So I am talking to Jo for about 20 minutes, telling her what my needs are and what areas the client wants to advertise in, etc. At the end of the call she tells me she can email me a proposal before the end of the day. My work email addy is kind of hard to understand, so I ask for her email addy so I can send her an email. She gives it to me and it's
jabrahamson@whatever.com and I tell her, I went to college with a J Abrahamson. Did she by chance happen to go to college in San Antonio. She said yes and I ask her if Jo was short for Johanna. She said yes. I ask her if she was a Sigma Kappa in college, and she says yes. So I re-introduce myself and she was all, "Oh my god Andy!" Yeah, we had classes together and she dated my little brother in the fraternity about 10 years ago and is still hanfs out with my friends who are sigma kappa alumni.
