Could it be any worse? Only if Jar Jar Binks coaches the Ewok synchronized swim team.

It could've been Star Wars Episode III: The Rise of Jar Jar Binks.

It better be good. It's got a lot of "loose ends" to make the prequels tie with the originals. I could dream, but it will probably just be some big CGI mess that I will run to see at the midnight showing like everyone else.

At least you can accept the truth. Don't feel bad though, everyone who knows it will disappoint and everyone knows they'll still pay to see it as soon as humanly possible.

Okay, so I'm a big Star Wars nerd. I was so excited about Episode II that we purchased tickets for opening day in advance. We got in and found 5 seats together, sat down and I find I'm crying once the lights go down and the film starts. Naturally the boys and DH thought I was insane I spend the next 2 hours almost in shock until the final 20 minutes hit and it's finally somewhat worth watching. The credits roll and I start crying again from the sheer disappointment of the experience.
Even so, I'll be buying tickets in advance for the first showing after school on opening day for Episode III. It can't be any worse than the last one, because we actually have an idea of how this one is gonna end.

On the other hand, I'm a big James Bond fan. For the past 25 years I've kept up a tradition of watching the latest adventure of 007 on opening day. Must be that rousing 'gunbarrel theme' that keeps me going back...

I'm no fan of these prequels. They seem to be clearly aimed at a different audience than were eps 4,5 and 6.
The fart jokes just don't belong in SW.

This is interesting. I hope it's better than I and II. Although I actually thought II was decent. (I just sucked). I'm a HUGE SW fan and I hope that this is finally what we've been looking for in a prequel.

The funny thing is that these were all written at the same time as Episodes 4, 5,and 6. They were all written as one great big project.....so I don't know if they weren't really all that interesting back then when first concocted or if someone has "tinkered" with the screenplays in an attempt to make them appeal to today's audiences.
In my opinion, you watch these prequels because you are some sort of Star Wars fan and you know something about it to begin with. I think they would disappoint most people who were clueless about Star Wars (which may be why Eps 4-6 were released first). In any case, I love them because I'm a big fan of Eps 4-6 and I want to see where it all began (but to me they're not as good as Eps 4-6).
There.....I've rambled for the day. Thank you.

It was, and the last 45 minutes of II was absolutely amazing.
If Lucas leaves out the cute stuff aimed at ten year old kids, and embraces the dark side, III will win him Best Picture. He can't do romance, and Disneyesque garbage drags Star Wars films down. He needs to kick out a 2 hour long movie with a dark streak. He can do it. He did it in IV and V. He just needs to do it one more time.

What he needs to do is let somebody else direct this one. he can't do dark movies. The Empire Strikes Back is the best one in the series. It was dark and no happy ending. Maybe Irvin Kershner should direct Eps. 3.

After watching the new ending for Return of the Jedi, and seeing George Lucas smile as he talked about how much fun making the next, dark film is, I'm encouraged.
Empire Strikes Back is definitely the best (so far.) If Lucas can keep the cheese out (which I believe he can because he reduced the cheese from Phantom Menace to Attack of the Clones,) embrace the Dark Side of movie making (which he seems to have done,) and just work his magic, we're in for a 2 hour long roller coaster ride.
