Norman police have traced fraudulent IDs to a greek house.

____A multi-state fraudulent-ID police investigation has led police to an OU student’s fraternity room, according to a Norman Police Department press release Monday.
____Police discovered an OU student’s connection to fraudulent Texas driver licenses that were being mass produced in Dallas, Texas, according to a press release.
____Norman police said a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity was distributing the IDs to students on campus.
____Kappa Sigma fraternity national officials said they are open to looking into the situation.
____“We certainly would investigate but we would have to have all the information,” said Mic Wilson, executive director for Kappa Sigma fraternity.
____The police investigation began in September after several individuals were caught using the fake identifications.
____Texas law enforcement officials consider the IDs the best fake licenses they have ever seen, according to the release.
____Norman police detectives Todd Gibson and Chris Amason turned over the fraternity member’s computer to the United States Secret Service after searching his room.
____Norman police said they are offering an amnesty period for individuals possessing the frauds, allowing them to relinquish the fake IDs to detectives by Nov. 18 to avoid criminal charges.
____Norman police officials said Gibson and Amason are handling the surrendering of the fabricated licenses in-person.
____Individuals can also enclose their fake IDs in an envelope addressed to Gibson or Amason and drop them off at the Norman Police Department without being asked any questions if they want to remain anonymous, police said.
____In Oklahoma, it is a felony to present a police officer an ID that has been fabricated or altered for the purpose of misleading police or avoiding persecution.
