Shopping Today?
I was going to get up early, be at the stores at 6 am and still be at work by 8 am, but I overslept. Is anybody shopping today? What are the good deals that would get out there today?

Dont, god damn, you would have thought people had Money this morning!
Insane, stupid, ignorant and damn rude!
2 or 3 hour sales on selected items, get the sheep in the pen and sell them other things!
Economy is still bad so wait, there will be other sales!!!!!!
Euro and gas prices are kicking our butts, so wait, there will be more sales!

Not brave enough to earn the Combat Shopping Medal. Having once worked retail, I shoulda got a Purple Heart for working a day after Thanksgiving!

I WENT.
And I text msged squirrely girl, mu_agd, and greeklawgirl because I stood in lines all day.
I got to the mall at 7:30AM with my mom and luckily we found a parking spot right away. We noticed that there were many people who slept in their cars. It's good to go with at least one more person. That means that someone can stand in line while the other looks for other good bargains.
We were at Sears shopping for the kids' clothes for three friggin' hours because their registers kept on needing to be reboot. At the Disney Store, the power went out twice. Macy's was just pure chaos. I think I ran to the mall's Starbucks at least five times while mom stood in line because that's how long the lines were.
Oh yeah--just because you're pregnant and ready to pop does NOT give you the right to be slow as hell when you're operating a cash register. Pregnant woman who are almost full term should stay home on the day after Thanksgiving so they don't act as dead weight! Out of the customer service station at Macy's Juniors, 4 out of 6 chicks were pregnant. Almost full term pregnant.
Still, the 50-60% signs were all worth it. And I did manage to get my mom to spend $$$ on a set of new Sandy clothes!
Ah, the joys of being consumer driven sheep.

Which outlets did you go to? The ones in Kenosha aren't usually super horrible on Black Friday. Gurnee Mills, however, I wouldn't go anywhere near on that day.
As for me, I make it a practice to stay away from the stores on Black Friday.

I thought about going to Lenox Square, but the thoughts of battling around for your dear life from other shoppers conquerred my desire and thus I stayed in bed for couple more hours

I took Target as a holiday job and i had to be at work yesterday morning at 5 am. I swear i could nto get a dam thing stocked without being accosted by ignorent ppl and ignorent questions. When your stocking rival roasters and the guest ask you where are yoru roasters....HELLLLLLOOOOOO if you look maybe you might see. Though they treat us employees rather well.....we had all day turkey dinner yesterday catered and today we had pizzas and salads all day long and sodas. tomorrow i hear it will be either subway or somewhere else.
Though i got my son taken care of yesterday......
clothes
spiderman stuff
leap frog stuff
walkie talkies
bincolors
for his BDAY next week.....a telescope
i do love a discount

I stay well away from the malls between Thanksgiving and Christmas. The internet is your friend.
Saw an article in the NY Times about a family who ran around on the day after Thanksgiving hitting several stores and spending more than $1300. The kicker: "I'm still paying off last year's bills. I'm still hurting from it."

I didn't go shopping on Friday. But my mom is taking care of most of that junk. I just gotta get stuff for my parents and sister and a couple of friends then I'm done.
