depledged
I was pledging a sorority last spring, I really got along with the sisters very well, but I didn't really get along with my pledge sisters, they were always so frustrated at me b/c I couldn't be around as much b/c they all lived on campus and I lived at home... it was so hard b/c I was devoting as much time as I could to pledging.... the other thing was that while I was plegding I got the oppurtunity to go on exchange very far away from school. so with all that I decided to depledge... and now I am going back to my old school, which I didn't think I would be,, and my question was does anyone know of any situautions where a sorority would let someone who depleged pledge again? I liked the sisters so much and felt so bad b/c they were all so dissapointed when I deplegded, but I did't know what else to do.. so if anyone has any expereince with this.. please let me know

If you quit because of the exchange program, I think that's definitely a valid reason to depledge. That is a once in a lifetime opportunity and any mature person would not hold it against you if you took advantage of it.
If it's been less than a year, you are still bound to them anyway.
I don't want to say it would never work, but I also don't want to say you'll be welcomed back with completely open arms. Try to make contact with the sisters when you go back to school, and see how they act. Hopefully you will be able to reconnect with them. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply, what do you mean that I am bound to them anyways? I know it would be pretty hard especially with my old pledge sisters...but I think that it would be worth it still

Hey there!
I just wanted to add my two cents here. I think it depends on the sorority but with mine, once you de-pledge, that's it. It is really sad too because one of the girls in my pledge class couldn't do it this semester and really wanted to next semester but those are national's rules. So, it will probably depends on which sorority you want to go back to. You should probably just ask one of the girls in the sorority and they can tell you the specifics.
Hope this helps!

Cody46-
I believe what 33girl meant by being "bound to them" is a rule that if you begin to pledge an NPC sorority, and stop, you may not try to join a different NPC sorority for at least 1 year.
Somebody correct me if I'm wrong in this

DWBMC,
Doesn't your National have a mechanism for holding a girl over for a period of time? So that she can complete your program the following semester without haveing to depledge and pledge again, which is against your rules?
