I think the websites are well done. However, it tells you little about the chapter, except what the members look like and facts most people already know. Also, it is not very personalized. I would wager that the same company built most, if not all of these websites.

I like them but I too would like to see more pictures and more information...it looks like Esasson makes most of them...
http://www.esasson.com/
it looks like esasson does the Michigan State Website....and lots of other sites
I also found an old AOII site from 2002 on their site....

If I paid a company big bucks to do my website, I'm sure I could make it look nice and pretty too.
Not impressed. That is all.

I didn't get past the entry page of any of them, they take too long to load. Thumbs down.

I agree with everything written above about the desirability of making the chapter's website reflective of its unique personality...but...the #1 problem with all chapter websites is that they're never updated. If paying a company to do a professional website is the solution to that problem - even if the website does seem sanitized and vanilla - then the website will be much more effective in terms of rush and alumni relations, and in its ability to attract even the undergrad members. Once you know the website will never change, no one looks at it anymore.

While the sites are nice and organized efficiently, if I were a PNM, I wouldn't be able to tell the true difference between the chapters. I would much rather see an amatuer site for the chapter or go the the national site for each. Just my opinion though!

Flash intros are outdated.
I don't see anything wrong with having your site professionally done, but your chapter historian/reporter should be responsible for making sure the updates get made-- and if you are paying a monthly maintenance fee so that all you have to do is email the updates... get a move on!
Web sites are a recruitment and PR tool-- sites that are not updated are a waste of space.

They're all very nicely done, but there's no substance to them. As a webmaster, I value substance over style anytime, but there has to be a happy medium somewhere.
I would prefer to view a site with a simple design which is updated often , rather than a flashy (pardon the pun) site which stays static.
Websites are promotion tools, so you have to be promoting constantly in order to stay active.
The Florida sites were likely all done by the same person/firm, as they have a "clone" look to them.
I'm not impressed.
I visited the KYX site and was impressed by how simple and clean the design is. Good job!
For an example of my work, visit misslouisiana.org . It's crude and simple, but I update almost constantly and I'm about to give the site a makeover. Or at least thinking about it after Miss America in January.

I agree. They're annoying, too. And not at all impressive anymore. If i'm going to a website, i want information quick. I don't want to have to go through extra steps to get to the info I need.

And there are still a lot of us out there with dial up. I couldn't even load up the websites, so this was the only criticism I could give.
