What little I know about FSU Recruitment Results

1141 girls started out last Monday on Ice Water Rounds.

Quota was 51. That means approx. 750 women were placed, or approximately 65% of the original number starting out. (2003 placed 70%, 2004 placed 67%, so 65% is right in line)

Beta Gamma Chapter of ZTA pledged quota plus 2 for 53.

Cuts were very heavy all week for most chapters. For example, first round of cuts were 50% or higher for some chapters.

When I know more, I'll be sure to post.

In a way, more girls did end up finding homes - remember that the campus added a new group last year, so quota was for 15 chapters, not 14 as in the previous 2 years.

I was, too. It's shame, but as you can see a 65-70% placement rate has been about average. I had hoped for larger placement numbers myself, esp. with the new chapter on board. I think the cutting percentages may have something to do with it.

As soon as I find out more info, I'll let y'all know.

Can someone explain why the number is so low? Is that 65% of the original number that signed up for recruitment (and does that include those that dropped on their own), or is it strictly those that weren't placed after pref?
I'm pretty sure that's based off of total number of women who signed up.

Honestly, it's not that low. A number of women will sign up for rush but -- for whatever reason -- not show up. Some women don't meet grade requirements (although I think this number is pretty low). Many, many women drop out of their own choice after getting cut from their favorites or realizing that sorority life isn't right for them.

The percentage placed from pref night is probably much higher.

It's 65% of the original number starting out. That number is *my* estimate - I don't have the actual stats and won't for a few weeks.

Zeta!

Recruitment week at Florida State went awesome. I preffed at three awesome houses and ended up at Zeta, my first choice. let me just say that the girls in my pledge class are nothing short of amazing!! Although i was sad to see many close friends and Rho Gam group members of mine drop, I still had an awesome time. and i have never been happier than I am now that I am a Zeta!!
