Slight emergency here... new apartment, painting my nails at my desk, my nail polish slips out of my hand and goes all over the carpet and wall.

Goo Gone maybe? It removes everything on porous surfaces so it may help with the wall, but I'm not sure with the carpet.

It can be found pretty much anywhere... or at craft stores.

Yes, go to the nearest JoAnn Fabrics - they will help you select an appropriate GooGone formula from their multudinous selection.

got most of it out of the carpet, but having a bit harder of a time with the wall. Though the wall can be painted, carpet can't.

Used some nail polish remover, and also this wonderful fabric cleaning stuff call Stainsafe that came with my microfiber armchair. It rocked! So i'm happy i got most of it out

I would try the Mr Clean Magic Eraser for the wall--but be careful, they will take the paint (and maybe some drywall) off too if you scrub too hard.
