Is the country in better shape today then it was....say before 2001.

I can think of several reasons but I would like to hear what you guys have to say.

Unequivocally, no. Not when I'm paying $2.75 for gas.. Not when bills are passed to hurt the consumer and further empower big business, especially, theenergy companies. And why is Ken Lay still walking free?

NO!!

Instead of a Surplus, we have a straggering National debt.
Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden became linked in the farce of a War ON Iraq.
Gas prices have doubled.
The Immoral Minority controls both Houses of Congress AND the White House.
I have to take off my shoes to go through security at the airport.
And the list goes on...

Depends on who you ask and if they were better off then as opposed to now, for me pesonally I am much better off financially, but for African American as a whole I would hae to say no. Poor economic support for the inner cities especially in the midwest and little to no money for education has hindered the progress of most African Americans.
