Sad News!!

The Eta Eta Chapter at Morehead State lost one of our brothers last night in a motorcycle accident. Matt Ballard was our rush czar and one of our best guys!! Please pray for his family in their time of need. He will truly be missed and was a true PIKE in every sense!!!

I attend the University of Memphis and unfortunately, the PIKE chapter closed here recently although your HQ is here. I am a Lambda Chi and am currently rechartering at Memphis. I know that when we closed they waited four years to bring us back to campus. I was curious if there were any plans on bring the chapter back to Memphis? I am not sure why they closed the PIKE chapter here; that may play a part in their decision.

I am truly sad to hear of the loss of your brother. I wil pray for his family. in the bond of greek brotherhood.

This is the first I've heard of them closing, and I am saddened at the loss of their tradition. However, it may be that National has decided to clean out the cupboard and start over with new members and a new attitude. The chapter yused to be terrific, in fact our National CEO Ray Orians was a member there. Memphis State is a commuter school and commuter schools are more vulnerable to hazing problems than residential campuses. I know they suffered from small membership for a long time, and the combination of problems may have convinced alumni that the only way out would be to get out for awhile and then come back with a bang.
Good luck with your re-colonization. Your Zeta Rho chapter here at FSU is very good, one of the best.
Since this thread was begun by a Brother distraught over the sudden death of a brother at Morehead State, let me address that. All of us here at Delta Lambda grieve with you, and pray that someday we'll all be reunited in the Chapter Eternal.
