Hold your stomach: Ugliest Dog Contest
I tried to warn you

Dog wins ugly contest, paws down
BY DENISE FLAIM
Newsday
Ugly, your name is Sam.
At least, that's what the judges at the World's Ugliest Dog Contest at the Sonoma-Marin Fair in California concluded earlier this month when they awarded that dubious superlative to a 14-year-old Chinese crested from Santa Barbara.
It was the third consecutive landslide for Sam, a hairless, blind, dermatologically challenged fellow who bears more than a passing resemblance to Yoda, or maybe the Cryptkeeper.
(The first year Sam won, Japanese television producers -- struck by his resemblance to one of their more successful imports, Godzilla -- hurriedly dispatched a camera crew.)
This year, a photo of Sam in all his wrinkled, mottled glory has been whizzing around the Net, inspiring simultaneous fascination and revulsion the world over.

My immediate thought was I hope his owners love on him a lot because I'm sure people walking down the street would be afraid of him out of ignorance.
I think he looks pretty good for being 98, with no hair for sun protection!
ETA: Ok - the owner sounds really loving.

Guys, it's just a VERY old, blind, and dentally challenged Chinese Crested Hairless dog.
People think they are so cute to own when they are young. They never think about what that exposed skin will look like years later.
This is what they look like when young:

I still don't think it's that cute...even when young.
The old one reminds me of that old Chinese shop keeper in Gremlins.

I'm laughing so hard. I can't stop repeating "That is NOT a dog. That can't even be alive. Please say it ain't so. Show me the edge of the world so I can jump off. I almost went BLIND!!! I'm dead serious y'all that is SOOO nasty. May God have mercy and end his life shortly if it's is even alive. That can't be a dog. It'sjust not not dog. It's not anything resembling anything alive. I was stunned into temporary blindness. OMG!!!
