SAE Song?

Hello,

I am a folklorist interested in college songs. I ran across the following song in an archive from 1963. Can anyone tell me if this is still being sung?

If you sing the song below and are willing it for me over the phone so that I can get the tune, I would greatly appreciate it.

Sincerely,

J M

Sing, brothers, sing-a-long,
Oh, sing along with me
I'll tell you all the joys
Which come to an SAE

On every Kappa active
There is a Kappa key
On every Kappa pledge
You'll find an SAE

It doesn't seem to be "national" or "official," but may well be a tradition of some local chapter somewhere.

The version I know goes: "On top of every Kappa house there lies a golden key and on top of every Kappa pledge there lies and SAE."

Thank You

Thanks for responding.

Yes, I understand that this song is not an official SAE song. Many songs (especially the bawdy material!) will never be official and are sung by many fraterities.

This one seemed to be an interesting "SAE song" because it rhymes the Kappa Key with SAE.

If you would be willing to sing this song for me over the phone so that I can get the tune, I would greatly appreciate it.

Sincerely,

J M

I've heard that song (the Pikas & Delts sing a version, too), but with every sorority on campus.
